About 3 years since my last bottle. This is fantastic now. On the nose: ripe peach, soft yeast, dense honeysuckle, soft petrol..so floral and intense. Fantastic acidity, and amazing density, lemon oil, peach, honey, then dripping with mineral intensity...wet stone, mineral oil, and the fruit recedes, only to reappear as soft lemon on the finish. Can’t imagine paying $100+ for this, but it is a viscous, layered, tropical stunner. Pineapple and apricot spread to every corner of the palate with a long, luxurious finish. Teriyaki glazed pork? Gruner is a crazy ass grape, and I drink the low cost liters like they’re water.

But when it’s done on a world class level it’s such an understatedly intense wine - WIDTH in your mouth, like taste it from every corner. A very different finish than you’d find in a French Chardonnay.
