100% Nerello Mascalese. Inky ruby color. Lovely nose of cherry/strawberry, rose petals, fresh herbs and volcanic ash. Vibrant cherry and raspberry fruit flavors with hints of minerals and earth with a nice smokey finish. Fine tannins (but a little tight) and lovely structure and freshness. Nice. Volcanic organic wine - aromas of green coffee beans, small red fruits, a little funk. Lots of acidity and freshness. — 3 years ago
Extremely floral on the nose, intense red & blue fruit on the palate leading with cranberry right after opening, then blueberry, finishing with some earthiness and a slightly gritty texture leaving a finish on your palate reminding you the wine was there. Bottle really evolves after some decanting! — 5 years ago
Surprisingly beautiful bouquet at this price point almost like a Barolo, decent finish mid body — 9 years ago
Bright red fruit, bloody on the way out — 7 months ago
A fascinating bottle. As other reviewers note, hard to tell just what you're smelling here, but definitely apricot/orange and acetone (in a good way). Super dry. Savory - not bright or refreshing - on the palate. Good match for fin fish. — 9 months ago
