2017 Marcel Lapierre Morgon in the House!
Did you know that Morgon is the second largest Cru (group of vineyards) in Beaujolais after Brouilly?
Yea anyway.... This Full Bodied Gamay was dope🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Deep Garnet, Red fruit on the nose like cherry or pomegranate.
I get plum, & nectarine/peach.
Nice finish !
I’d give it around 91 points.

Yummy as it opened up over four hours. Good particularly for a seven year old Napa Pinot. Spring Mt. — 6 years ago
Blackberries and greenness. Still think this is young 5 years out. — 9 years ago
Really liked. I'm learning I like red blends of wine. — 9 years ago
I consider this a more full bodied wine. Typically a Cab drinker but this Merlot was quite good. Strong plum and cranberry flavors with a bit of a peppery finish. Alcohol content seems high with half glass consumed! Surprised that I am enjoying this one as much as I am. — 10 years ago

There is an irony thing in the nose along with violet and rose petals and cherry and a bit of black pepper. This is the nose I fell in love with 10 years ago. The palate is very well designed with a strong acid backbone, a very nice round and radiating fruit, a bit of a sweet touch, some nice oily, scratchy tannins which kick things up for a rather long finish with that fruit, pepper and a long lasting floral aftertaste. So great. This is 7 Euro when you buy it from the winery directly and it's 15 kilometers from where I am right now 😍 — 5 years ago
This could be my favorite young vintage of Graillot. The freshness and balance this has is awesome, almost going as far to say there’s tension in what is normally an area that produces lipsmacking Syrah with so much jovial personality. This has a serious side. So much just ripe blackberry, currant, and marion berry fruit, lavender, crack black and pink peppercorn, salt cured olive, iron, animal, licorice, spruce and that classic Graillot tar note. The mid palate and finish wrap the tongue with stony mineraity, the depth too is awesome. The acid and “focus” almost make it an outlier for the house style, but there’s so much class to it. This has dimension and posture, I’m excited to watch it evolve. — 6 years ago
I usually tend toward Pinot Noir, but when I want something just a bit bolder, Gamay hits the spot. I have really been enjoying this 2015 vintage. — 7 years ago
Vibrant, expressive, feminine. Superior biodynamic quality of fruit, not masked by oak. — 8 years ago

Great cherry and lightly spice, well balanced and great value for money — 10 years ago
Medium bodied, bright cherries, a little hot, could benefit from decanting. Very nice overall. — 10 years ago
A very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco and herbs.
Bone dry on the palate, and full bodied with medium acidity.
Needs time to open up properly.
Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.
Wine Advocate 92 points.
Spicy and tangy finish with firm tannins.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Dessert Course, Warm Berry Cobbler, House Made Vanilla, Lemon Verbena Ice Cream.
Amazing dessert. Pairing the cobbler with the Ruinart Rosé and the Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve as well. Both good/appropriate for the dual aspects of the cobbler.
Dessert has blackberries and raspberries with lemon and crumble on top (tiny bit of cinnamon) and vanilla lemon verbena ice cream. There are flavors here that call for Rosé & Blanc de Blanc Champange.
