Really looking how this is drinking now — 7 years ago
Bold, powerful, and concentrated old style Chateauneuf. Abundance of ripe red fruit, raspberry, currants, garrigue, and licorice with subtle notes of tobacco on the lingering finish. Fruit was aged in tank and concrete for 18 months (although the Syrah sees a bit of neutral oak). The ABV is 15% but is well balanced with the concentrated fruit and soft tannins and great structure. This is a big, powerful wine that will last for 2 decades, but is approachable now with a 2 - 3 hour decant. Gorgeous! 2016 vintage on Dec 7, 2018 — 8 years ago
Better than I remember from previous bottles. Quite round but still precise, with excellent body and good minerality. Impression of sweetness while still being dry. Nice. — 9 years ago

Very nice example of Sancerre. Well worth it; from Chez Foushee. — 6 years ago
Lurid magenta. Expansive aromas of mineral-tinged red berries, incense and cola, joined by a suave floral nuance as the wine opens up. Appealingly sweet and seamless on the palate, offering juicy raspberry, cherry, spicecake and candied licorice flavors that are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Finishes smooth and long, with gentle tannins and lingering floral pastille and star anise notes. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2019)

Deep magenta. A complex, intensely perfumed bouquet evokes black raspberry, kirsch and lavender, along with vibrant mineral and exotic spice flourishes. Incisive red and dark berry, bitter cherry and succulent herb flavors show fine detail and spicy cut. Chewy, slowly building tannins add shape and grip to a strikingly long, nervy finish that echoes the cherry and floral notes. All whole clusters. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, January 2023) — 4 years ago
