Three Sticks

Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2017

A bit dryer and thinner (tannins) than the usual three sticks Pinot. I liked it, but the Russian river is not my favorite — 4 years ago

Three Wine Company

Contra Costa County Petite Sirah 2010

Beautiful label with original artwork. Aged well. Color is still very dark. Smells meaty. Floral too. Hints of violets. Berry melange. Flavors are dense and very tannic. Fairly complex and very chewy. Clean and clear with the lovely flavors. Plenty of savory and licorice-y stuff. This is Petite at its best and it’s still going strong 14 years on. — 4 months ago

Three Sticks

Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020

Bit jammier than the usual, but still well balanced and wonderful — 7 months ago

Reata

Three County California Pinot Noir 2020

Dark garnet color. Fresh red berry/cherry aromas with hints of minerals and fresh herbs. More sour cherry and cranberry on the palate with hints of earth, black tea, black licorice and rhubarb. Medium-plus body, soft texture and light tannins. Pretty good. Thanks for sharing, Keith S! — 9 months ago

Lore Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Been a few years since I’ve enjoyed a Lore, but this did not disappoint. Big blue/black fruits but very approachable by itself. Fantastic bottle! — 2 years ago

Agreed, @Paul T- Huntington Beach. Haven’t opened one or the Herb Lamb’s I have yet, but am expecting great things from that bottling as well.

Dunham Cellars

Three Legged Red Red Blend 2016

What a delightful red. Definitely fruity but singing acid keeps it very interesting. Very high qpr. — 5 years ago

Rivers-Marie

Silver Eagle Vineyard Pinot Noir

Heavy for a Pinot - wonderbar — 4 months ago

De Bortoli

Noble One Botrytis Sémillon 2020

Sweet. Stone fruits (apricot and peach). I would score it higher if it had a bit more acidity. Enjoyed with a pear tart. — 4 months ago

Old Vines Field Blend 2019

Big, rich, maybe just a little too ripe (as @Tom Casagrande pointed out in a note about an earlier vintage), but still a nice, solid, old vine field blend, Contra Costa County history!! — 6 months ago

Three Wine Company

Spinelli Vineyard Mataro 2015

Lovely old vine (128 years old) Mataro from Contra Costa County east of SF, rich redfruits, still well-structured, not overly extracted, just pure with a long, lingering finish, ideally needs more cellaring. — 8 months ago

Contra Costa County Zinfandel 2019

Very fruity. Black cherry and blackberry aromas and some notes of cinnamon, then balanced fruit and baking spices that tingle the tongue and linger on. What Goes with That: Fall Sweets Class, pairing: pumpkin pie. — 2 years ago

Bearwallow Vineyard Pinot Noir

The darker side of Rivers Marie. Where all of the Occidental bottlings share red fruited characteristics this is more black fruits and fresh earth. The supporting acidity and the hours it still takes to open up give me hope that it should continue to develop in bottle. — 5 years ago
