Eternity Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon Petit Verdot 2014

Clark Claudon Vineyards Eternity Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Napa Valley, California

It is time for my
#FridayCabernetfix.

Dark purple in color, almost Inky, with a short reddish rim.

Full bodied, elegant and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.

Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, herbs, peppercorn, chocolates, light earth and tobacco leaf.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain. Nicely balanced and fruit forward. Rich, opulent and spicy.

Loved the palate more than the nose, and this doesn't happen too often for me.

This 9 year old is showing nice complexity and mouthfeel. A fabulous wine.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle too.

Robert Parker 93 points.

A great wine to have all by itself. Will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

14.7% alcohol by volume.

95 points.

$160.

Pachyderm Thorn Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013

Been a wine member at Claypool for a bit now and love their wines! This Thorne Ridge is legit- dark cherry skin color. Aromas of underripe cherry, rose petals, raspberry and cedar. Amazing flavors of red underripe fruit with a solid cedar finish. — 6 years ago

Smith Story

Thorn Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

Aged for 16 months in 25% new oak barrels, this wine displays all the right notes of that exposure and is not overblown. Only three barrels of this wine were made - some 60 barrels - and it hits 12.9% abv. It is praised as an elegant wine, the kind Pinot Noir lovers love to love. Medium dark, this medium weight wine shows a nose of cola, black tea, orange peel and spices. The palate is smooth and almost silky. The tannins are just enough and the acidity is perfect. Tart berries, tea notes and spice flavors all play in harmony. The wine is smooth without laying down, exciting without being boorish. — 6 years ago
