We smooth and perfect! — 9 months ago
This is stunning. A beautiful nose of bright fruit with fresh lemon and yellow flowers and hints of secondary notes coming through. On the palate gorgeous full sweet fruit with some brioche and lemon oil and perfect balance. Long and seductive and wonderfully pitched. Really good. — 2 years ago
First time I’ve ever rated a perfect 10. This wine gifted to hubs is a remarkable smooth wine. Full of cherry, plum and a hint of smoke. The wine is smooth from the get go and opens up into a silkiness that is spectacular. Beautiful. With veggie pizza night on Christmas 2021. Anna and kobi home! . — 4 years ago

Txakolina rosé tasting on the 2020 Summer Solstice, perfect for a hot/humid day in the Berkshires. Last bottle from our cellar. — 5 years ago
Tasted blind. Tawny color, translucent with amber rims. Notes of black cherry, cedar, some spice and a little barnyard floor. Sweet fruit in the mouth, with tannins fully resolved. Guessed 1955 Calon Segur. Perfect looking bottle, the cork revealed this bottle was reconditioned by the Chateau in 2000. — 7 years ago
A physically pristine example from a well established cellar, the cork pulled clean and without so much as a hint of compromise. It was subsequently double decanted several hours in advance. The 2000 Margaux pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. The nose: developing and simply stunning. A cornucopia of cassis, black bramble fruit, purple flowers, tobacco, new leather, cocoa, fine woody notes, dry gravelly earth and gorgeous baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid; the structure acting like the flying buttresses of Notre Dame. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is forever long and impossibly silky. Sensationally balanced.
To my palate, this falls into the very small category of wines that require no additional inquest. It is utterly complete. And, when I consider the company and circumstances, perfect. Drink now with a healthy decant and through 2100. — 8 months ago
Medium straw colour with a beautiful mousse. On the nose, lemon, pear, yeast and toast. Nice light body with perfect tiny bubbles that made the perlage super velvety in the mouth, a nice contrast to the crisp acidity. Notes of asian pear, white peach and apple, lemon and at times almost like ethanol and some toast with lingering hazelnut and ginger on the long finish. Not sure if our bottle was slightly off with the ethanol taste that came up once in a while. Will have to try another bottle. For science. — 4 years ago
So many flavors. Balanced. Perfect acid and tannins combination. Very long. Could easily age for years. — 5 years ago
Damn near perfect Bordeaux — 5 years ago
Spectacular We have stored this for 11 years and enjoyed it for our 5th anniversary, paired with lamb shank and lamb chops. opens beautifully perfect time to drink. Initially the finish had notes of leather, hint of dark fried fruit. — 9 months ago
Recent notes suggested this wine was declining and the fruit fading. This was cause for concern as have a few of these I’ve been patiently cellaring. Well, I’m very happy to report this bottle, a Martine’s import, was stellar. To my palate, the wine is in a perfect place. Tertiary aromas and flavors dominate. Very complex aromas of sous bois, herbs de provence, wet saddle and red fruits. The palate is vivid and lively. Extraordinary depth and length that never faded. I can’t say enough great things about this wine. There’s no chance this bottle was fading or won’t last several more years. I don’t think it can improve as it’s almost perfection right now. Simply a stunner. — 3 years ago
Like peaches and cream. Perfect with food. Perfect on its own. Jean Georges. — 4 years ago
The 1945 La Mission Haut-Brion from the château cellar is transcendental. It is blessed with the most beautiful bouquet you can imagine, effortless and natural, featuring woodland, red-berried fruits, a minerally quality and a faint touch of leafiness; given time to settle, it develops a lovely gamy note. The palate is medium- rather than full-bodied and sublimely balanced, upholding that effortless grace with an elegant, bittersweet, dried orange peel finish. One of the most harmonious wines I have ever consumed. Perfect. Tasted at the La Mission Haut-Brion vertical in London in September 2009. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2020)

We chose this as our Thanksgiving wine. I thought it would be a little robust for turkey and ham, but it was just perfect. Everyone loved it. Great memory... — 6 years ago

W64 200, Xmas day family wine 3L perfect in every way, what a cracker, silky berries, in the same level as say Gevrey Chambertan, without the expense. Just had a rethink, this now goes to my top rated wine. — 7 months ago
