Not a Cali Chard fan normally but this is delish. Might be the leftover excitement from talking winemaking with Chuck Wagner yesterday but I loved this wine. Burgundian almost... — 7 years ago

Nice view. Never a slam dunk with his Chardonnay. Either it’s just slightly overdone/ heavy-handed or in your case delicious. Cheers.

@David L I can see what you mean about his Chards being heavy-handed and full-throttle; definitely not a style that would be a slam dunk with everyone, for sure.

Riquewihr Lost Slough Vineyards Gewürztraminer 2015

The 2015, the other half of the night's comparison. Less subtle, more floral. Jasmine, rose petal, honey. All powerful, but all a bit separate and distinct. I think this could lie down for a good while. Will be pleased to try another bottle in a few years. — 8 years ago

Kosta Browne

One Sixteen Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2018

My first Kosta Browne chard! I like it! Opened it while cooking and it started with a nice lemon essence ... Over time it took on buttery notes with some toasted pear. Pairing just beautifully with my zucchini and pinenut pasta .... I may be deliriously happy, or my wine might taste like creme brûlée. — 5 years ago

Liquid Farm

White Hill Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2014

Hard to beat LF from a QPR perspective, or any other perspective when it comes to Cali Chard. Beautifully cut notes of river rock, lemon zest, sage pepper all in a restrained and balanced package. — 7 years ago

Sonoma Valley Chardonnay 2013

Love this Chard. Tangerine, Meyer lemon, and well balanced. Showed a little less complex but probably because it was drank a bit colder than usual to keep us refreshed on the patio. — 8 years ago
