Terrific rose of pinot noir from Maggie Harrison of Antica Terra. This is not your garden-variety rose: serious skin contact time coupled with her incredible wine-making abilities has produced a really substantive wine. Reminds me a bit of Manfred’s SQN roses (not surprising, I guess, since Maggie worked with Manfred for I believe a decade or so before striking out on her own with what I think is the best winery in the Willamette Valley). Do yourself a favor and try to snag some of this. Terrific juice. — 5 years ago

Best Greco I’ve had, and I’ve had many. This is an amazingly underrated grape, but’s great along, with cheese, or light fare. All I know is that I want to try some of the other obscure Mastrobernardino whites I can’t usually get and in fact have barely heard of. — 6 years ago
Fruit forward Spanish wine. Paired well with pizza and dark chocolate. Very smooth on the palette — 6 years ago
Great wine. Will definitely buy again — 7 years ago
Pale garnet color. Medium+ aromas of ripe cherry, dried strawberry , raspberry, dried rose and peony, woody. Developing.
The wine is dry, high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, medium body, medium+ intense flavor of dried cherry, strawberry, rose and vanilla. Finish is medium.
Very good, but too young. — 8 years ago
Paired with brisket. Yum! Better the second day; give it some time to open. — 10 months ago
Light golden color, restrained nose of yellow fruit maybe even yellow kiwi. Rich and round, ripe yellow apples, some stone, decent acidity. Needs time for tertiary notes that seem like they’d be interesting. Maybe a bit low on acid, although the mineral and reductive note keep it pretty well balanced. — 3 years ago
2015: Outstanding Aglianico. Dominated by gobs of darker red fruit earlier on before picking up tertiary leather and graphite flavors. Rich and mouth coating and already drinking well, but clearly will get increasingly complex over time. $50 on Delectable. — 5 years ago
Excellent. Black cherry, dry dusty fine tannins, hints of blueberry, hint of mint — 6 years ago

Pleasant aperitif. Moscato style presumably from Muscat grape, but varietals in blend not specified. A low alcohol (7.5), little sweet and little sparkling, fruit-forward wine. — 7 years ago
Smell blackberry and plum, Taste raspberry, blackberry. Fruit forward. Dry mouth at the end.

A blend of 77% Cab Sauv, 13% Merlot, 7% Syrah, 3% Petite Sirah & 1% Cab Franc, deep Ruby with aromas of rich ripe berry fruits, cedar and earthy herb spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and plum, with cacao, tobacco and oaky notes. Nice balance, soft chewy tannins, long finish ending with creamy vanilla spice and cedar character. Nice value! — 5 years ago
2017- very earthy. Good peppery spice. Subtle dark fruit. Good tannins — 5 years ago
Rich cherry and cassis lovely finish and balance. — 6 years ago
This is a big boy, super ripe, layered and dense. Killer red sauce pasta wine. No subtlety here — 7 years ago
Good balanced, good aftertaste of this wine blow you away. Purple color reminds young Saperavi or liquid consistency in the glass, or gouache concentrate.
Small tannins, low acidic, becoming elder would be jam.
Grapes from Old vines and maceration applied. rye croutons, smoked salami in the nose. — 8 years ago

floral, violet, rose petal, strawberry, blackcherry, pomegranate, sweet spice, orange peel, tobacco, liquorice. A young, generous, focused, balanced and delicious Barbaresco for a great price. Give it some years to really blossom…93++ — 10 months ago
