Still fairly primary. The fruit on the nose is remarkable. The purest apricot, and a little lightly burnt brown sugar, lots of flowers. Intense in the mouth. Not that sweet, and pretty good acids. Great length. This will go a long time. Delicious now, and certainly much better down the road. — 7 months ago
Medium ruby garnet , garnet terracotta rim. Slightly sweet , roasted nose, with chestnut some sous bois , grafite , slight seaside hints. After a while a touch more herbal. On the palate quite stern dark fruits , mineral , grafite notes , quite dry tannin and ok balanced acidity . Reasonable length and sous bois , grafite tinged finish . This is still quite young though its appearance is slightly more advanced than the 1988 . Needs a decant and held up well over the 5 hours we had it open . Drink now and over the next 5-10 years. A little pedestrian overall and is outclassed by the superior 1988. — 8 months ago

Plush and rounded. Sweet fruit. Lush and long. Very good shape. Still vibrant — 10 months ago
Wow what an amazing blend of a sweet bourbon finish paired with a strong bourbon aroma right at the start of the sip. This wine is well priced for the great complexity of flavor. Anyone who enjoys whiskey or bourbon will be delighted with this one. — 4 years ago
It’s delicious and sweet — 6 years ago
It’s 10 years since Serge. Hochar’s death whilst swimming in Acapulco on NYE 2014 and I think it’s appropriate to celebrate his legacy that is the modern Chateau Musar.
I first tasted Lebanese wines in London circa 1986 when I used to go to a couple of Lebanese restaurants in Shepherds Market near Mayfair in London
Al Hamra is still in business
I’ve been to Beirut several times and always stock up at the airport duty free
So a toast to a departed icon of the wine world
Since my last 2011 4.5 years ago (see note) this has aged wonderfully and I’ve up my rating several points
Another few years and it will be further improved
Optimal decant time was around 3.5 to 4 hours
Ethereal stuff — 6 months ago
Quite approachable at this young age. 30 minutes decant and it’s open for business. Aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, sweet spices, cocoa, and lightly roasted nuts. The depth of flavors and elegant medium to full body show the pedigree. If blinded, I would not be able to tell this is a Sangiovese dominant blend. Would prefer a bit more acidity. But who am I to complain. — 7 months ago
Best Moscato d’Asti I’ve tasted. Beautifully floral and perfect balance, sweet but not too sweet, slightly fizzy but not too much. — 8 months ago

Sweet but not cloying. Delightful on its own, or in a fancy negroni. Probably the best vermouth I’ve had (though I am not an aficionado!) — 3 years ago
Excelent for warm weathers. The chillest, the better. Sweet but not over indulging. Wonderful for paella or straight meat. Rib eye, new york, porterhouse. — 6 years ago
