2019 vintage. Not decanted. Tasted after being open one hour. Light body. Decent frontal concentration that glided and dimmed appropriately to the finish. Nice sustenance throughout without being overbearing in any particular facet. Last tasted 9.24.23 and it was a trip and a bit unbalanced (8.9). This was worlds better. 3.15.24. — a month ago
Love these wines. 2016 is a beautiful rendition, rich, spicy, and mineral, layered with oak framed vibrant fruit, sweet spices, violets and game, with a seductive, velvety and expansive palate with fine grained tannins. Drinking beautifully now but with a long life ahead. More Vosne than NSG which is just the way I like it. Last sips were the best. — 4 months ago
Drank 12 /7/23.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!
Scents of plum, blackberry, currant, and chocolate. Flavors are similar, with blackberry, plum sauce, and soil. Tannins are still firm, but, well integrated and mix with black fruits on the long finish. This one goes on for over a minute. Drinking well now, but showing no signs of slowing down. This should last another 10 plus years, but is in a nice place now.

Great with a NY strip, but even better with the balsamic glaze that complimented it. This pairs wonderfully with sweet dark fruit flavors. — 5 months ago
So much richness and tobacco. Dried fruit. Prunes. Magnifique! — 5 years ago
A good reasonably priced bordeaux. Decanted for 30 min and by the second glass it opened up nicely. Raspberry, currant, and a touch of oak. — 8 years ago
Yes!!! One of the best i've had so far — 11 years ago
Very smooth. I’ve never tried a Bordeaux but this is so smooth! — 17 days ago
Tried this at Freedom Run’s First Friday wine class as part of the Right Bank Bordeaux class. Stunning. — 24 days ago
Dark black fruits but also earthiness on the nose, light on the palate with red cherry, smooth acidity, big but fine-grained tannins. This one needs food (vs the one I had earlier with the movie). — 2 months ago
2024/2/13. This is multifaceted, with different elements emerging and submerging repeatedly over dinner. By turns firm and earthy, young and gangly with a touch of pack showing, and wildly aromatic, as is typical for young Chevillon wines. This Cailles in particular showed strawberry and watermelon coulis, cherry, spices such as cardamom and sweet game. On the palate it’s fleshy, broad and on the low side in acid, but that’s relative - though still tannic and a bit awkward, it’s balanced and enjoyable — 3 months ago
Great with beef bourgeois. — 6 years ago
Showing lots of depth - especially for the price point. — 8 years ago
2011 vintage. Opened-not decanted-and tasted after three hours. Medium body. Nearly as much stuffing as a holiday fowl and the nose was replete with orange citrus and baking spices. Has at least another decade of excellent enjoyment if not two. 4.18.24. — 11 days ago
1998 vintage. Top-notch fill (almost too good) and perfect cork with very little lower-level saturation. Decanted and tasted over the course of two hours. Appropriate, chunky sediment. Last tasted 12.17.23 (9.2). Had some nice older leather, dry summer earth and ripe plum in the nose throughout with only a modicum of "funk" that blew off quickly. Medium body. Still vibrant color. Initially, the experience was front-loaded but, after 30 minutes or so, the fruit and structure began to fill in/slide back and balance out the mid-palate and finish. More consistent specimen than the one tasted almost 3 months ago. Don't feel it needs more time to knit/resolve affairs but can likely hold in this phase for 4-5 years without degradation. 3.10.24. — 2 months ago
Cherry, shitake mushroom, plum, forest floor. — 3 months ago
Nice complexity with dark berries, tobacco, and refreshing finish. Goes very well with meat dish. — 4 months ago
An earthy nose with violet, dark plum, blackberry, hints of sage, Iodene, leather. Hot at first but with air has softened and integrated. Good stuff — 7 months ago
2023 summer. Still lots of dark berry fruit and powdery density - it would be even better bwith 10 more years, but tasty and engaging now — 7 months ago
A beautiful wine from a classic right bank vintage. Flawless. — 9 years ago

Little bit of earthy funk upon opening that evolves quickly to sous bois laced dark berry fruit, some mushroomy notes, quite hooking on the palate, firm acidity, graceful tannins, paired solidly with Quiche Lorraine. #stemiliongrandcru — 24 days ago
