Big but elegant. Young blueberry and blackberry with some fresh leather. Luscious. Feel like this could cellar for a long time... — 7 years ago
Winery located in Alba, the Piedmont region was founded by its namesake in 1881. Great Grandson, Pio Boffa, continues the tradition of innovative wine making. ‘12 was a difficult but PC did well. Aromas of fresh dark berry fruits & herb notes. Cherry, plum and minty flavors, some licorice and cacao, well balanced with young tannins. Complex lingering finish ending with nice earthy notes. Enjoyable now but needs more time. — 8 years ago
Good, but maybe not up to the hype. Probably just too young and the bottle open too long at the bar. Nice complexity in the flavors but finish a bit meh. Some cocoa, mint, olive. Deep colors and smooth but overall feeling was thin and missing a middle. Definitely enough tannins and acidity to wonder what it will be like in a few years, but this is a crap business lounge and I don't want my flight delayed that long... — 8 years ago
I was so excited to open this 2006 Leoville Barton. The color was ruby red and dark crimson. Almost black. It opened very hot with just a short decant. The nose showed amazing cherry, raspberry, cocoa and coffee notes. On the palate the tannins are very evident. There are obvious dark berries and even some earthy vegetables and tobacco. Over the course of 2hrs it really came into its own and showed its meddle. This is a great wine and, in my opinion, a great value. While a bit young, this wine a still great now and will be amazing in 10 yrs. — 9 years ago
Randy Dunn does Washington. And he does it well. What I love about this is that it's the exact opposite of a Napa fruit bomb, it has aromas of Cedar, vanilla, chocolate covered strawberries, and some leather tones as it opens up in the glass. Palate is super smooth despite being young, with some herbs de Provence, leather, and sweet market cherries. Medium bodied and a perfect companion for a My Father Le Bijou 1922. — 9 years ago

Irises and crunchy red fruit and iron and acid. Some debate about whether there was just a hint of Brett, which for me added additional interest, regardless of the source. Young yet, though doesn't seem destined for the long life this can support in the best vintages. Worth noting that this is the "N" version. — 10 years ago
Light oak. Stone fruits. Young. Revisited this 3/21. Much better. Some nice weight to this. Definitely stronger hints of peach. Still very fresh and crisp. — 11 years ago
Cherry, licorice and spice in the body and some notes of chamomile tea. Opened well and tannins resided but still young. Want more of this in a few years. — 11 years ago
Clear, still, no sediment, straw colored. Crisp citrus, apple, pear with slate and a hint of petrol. Fruity with some residual sugar and good acidity. Well-balanced, but young. It will shine in another 8-10 years. — 7 years ago
Great Torre in the making. Still very primary and upon opening shy nose with acidity and tannins dominating. After 30min slow-ox and getting up to temp the nose opens revealing hints of whats coming with florals, red berries, some forest floor. Similarly fruit picks up in intensity, tannins soften and wine turns to nice young nebbiolo balance. This is very much red fruited with gread mid palate intensity and additional depth still lurking in need of bit more bottle age. After 2h the wine begins to shut down confirming it's still work in progress. If you like excellent young barbaresco and empty your bottle withing 2h feel free and pop. However I'll store my remaining ones for 2-3 more years to get bit more complexity and developed notes I adore in Produttoris bottlings — 7 years ago
Haven't drank this for some time but still very good. This was a young vintage but opened up after decanting for about half an hour. Could have let it breathed more but the crowd was too thirsty. — 8 years ago
Too young. Only started to open up after a few hours. Disappointing at first but this has some potential. Definitely put it away in the cellar for 5-10 years. — 9 years ago
Yeah yah I know...it's too young. But man this is rocking stuff. Put this with some 100pt 2010 Cali stuff and it showed them to the door. Might take 20years for this to really show what it has but it's close to perfect now. 97+ 5-10years it's 100pt wine every day — 9 years ago

Go south, young man! There's still value in Burgundy. This has put on some weight with time, in a very good way. — 10 years ago
Cloves, herbs, meat, earth, some sweet fruit. Young but very good. The 2006. — 10 years ago
Mmm. Chocolate dipped prune with a fine tannin and a smokiness that is a bit wierd good. — 11 years ago
Young, but showing some good signs — 12 years ago
Opaque. Dark and brooding tawny to the rim. Fragrant seductive nose. Notes of black cherry, sweet plums, dark soil, moist forest bark and old tree leaves. With air some cherry pie filling, cracked nuts, mocha and a little clove appear. Rich and silky in the mouth. Smooth. Long finish. Still young. Really good wine. — 7 years ago
Very fresh and young for a 32 year old wine. Benefitted from some time and decanting but tons of fruit and tannins left in this bottle. Lots of cassis and blackberry — 7 years ago
This had some funk to it.. very anti-Aussie in its approach. Shiraz/Mataro blend with a zippy, fresh quality to it. Slightly chilled, this’d be good. — 7 years ago
85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc
A little closed up, but that's to be expected from such a young wine built for aging. Air helps to unfold the layers buried within. While 2014 was a cooler year, the weather played well to the style of Sassicaia as its target is 12.5-13% abv every vintage, so the conditions here were less of an issue. The acidity and density are here to last for some time, probably more than you think and should go the distance just fine. Elegant, yet powerful, with pure red currants and cassis, a touch of bright blueberry fruit, with a savory and spicy edge from the Cabernet Franc, then graphite and lavender florals appear, this is a beautiful young and fresh Sassicaia. Rocks and stone on the nose hint at minerality. Elegant and persistent on the medium+ palate, gorgeously pure and distinct with firm medium+ grain tannin. A long, dense, tightly wound finish that is fresh and persistent, entirely to young but with loads of potential. — 8 years ago
A weird bit of lacquer and heat on the nose, which mostly blows off and settles down to more classic cab notes. Was a bit better with food. Has mostly dark cassis fruit, still some dry tannins on the finish, good acidity and some oak feels yet unresolved. These drink beautifully young. Maybe still in a rough patch. — 9 years ago
Darker than normal styles for a CDN but we are on a prestigious holding of Morey St Denis and this is full fruited still young mind elegant acidity zipping around some forrest notes however a lot of potential when it calms down in a few years but Dujac is a legend for all the tasty reasons. — 9 years ago
2001 vintage. Lovely youthful notes here. Still way too young. Plummy and mixed berries, some smokey oak, mulberries. On the palate, medium body, tannins are well integrated, hints of black pepper and nutmeg. White chocolate. Yummy despite its youthfulness. Open in 2025. — 10 years ago
Really incredible wine from some young winemakers. — 11 years ago

My boy @ADAM STROMFELD turns 50 years young... what better way to celebrate than with some 50 year old burgundy? Thanks @Frank for gifting this gem and thanks Adam for sharing. Amazingly elegant and youthful at this point; actually gets better with 20mins of air. Bright plum and prune fruit along with some damp forest notes. Just a hint of band-aide. — 7 years ago
