Silver Oak

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

From a 5 Bordeaux grape blend: 81.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.8% Merlot, 1.8% Petit Verdot, 1.4% Cabernet Franc & 0.4% Malbec, aged 24 months French oak, 85% new. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral and toasty spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and plump blueberries with notes of herbs, baking spice and toasty notes. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with cacao, toasty oak, fruit and earthy mineral tang. Very nice, aging well, but time will reward! — 15 days ago

Bonny's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

This is what I remember about great California Cabs. In my cellar for 25+ years. Popped the cork and left air 2 hours before decanting for another hour. A hint of the coconut marker while first decanting but blew off quickly. Great color and condition. — 2 months ago

12 Meses Silver Label Jumilla Monastrell 2022

Black currants, sweet oaky spices, cigar, coconut cream. Ripe, dark fruits, oaky spice (nutmeg, cinnamon), mild acidity, firm but smooth tannins. Some lingering grape candy.

A nice, affordable steak wine.

Pelissa Vineyard Zinfandel 2021

Inky in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity on the nose, and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and easy drinking.

Showing red and black fruits with light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, peppercorn, cola, Mediterranean spices and light licorice.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Single Vineyard Zinfandel from Napa Valley. Elegant and rich. Fruit forward and complex. Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime. Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will pair nicely with burger and fries.

14.9% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$40.

Nice to see this come in under 15%. It takes thoughtfulness and care to do that amid climate change, and is particularly admirable in Napa, where wineries could easily grub up low-profit Zin vines, replace them with Cab and charge higher $$.
