Great wine! Paired well with my Short-rib and risotto — 4 years ago
Deep Ruby, purple edges, with aromas of fresh berry fruits, cigar box spice and earthy mineral notes. On the palate rich ripe fruit, blackberry & black cherry with hints of dried spices. Good balance with slightly firm tannins, opened quickly, and lively acidity. Long finish, complex ending with oak, herb, mineral and earthy character. Will improve with short term aging, but don’t wait too long as you might be disappointed! Very nice Shiraz! — 5 years ago

Last night, a buddy of mine who’s a Disabled Veteran and Registered Architect, announced that he was assuming control of a SDVOSB Architecture firm. He had spent the better part of a year of trying to reach a purchase agreement. So it was an evening of celebration. He’s been a Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars fan for some time and he planned to pull the cork on a few bottles. We had a couple of rando bottles too but all were California Cabernet Sauvignon. I brought this bottle. It was part of my most recent delivery from Seavey and I was curious to try it out. Well...it was clearly infanticide. This was reductive at first and most of that blew off after about fifteen minutes. This was just so wound up. Delicious, fresh and almost crunchy fruit with a lot of structure. This was very bright compared to the Heart of Fay that preceded and just fell a touch short due to it being somewhat reticent. That being said, cellar time will be very kind to these and I would imagine this will show better down the road or with a lot of air, which this didn’t get. — 6 years ago
This is a very balanced full body wine, nose has light black licerace with black current. Taste has medium tannins with short tail. Very smooth taste of berry. — 6 years ago
First red on night four at Chops Grille aboard the Harmony of the Seas. Deep purplish red. Rich nose with sweet cinnamon, vanilla, blackberries, cassis, dark gravel and dark cocoa. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Lush palate with blue and black fruits as well as baking spices, purple flowers and a bit of minerals. Long and lingering finish with a touch of heat. Could use a short decant next time. Drink till 2033. — 7 years ago
Wife wanted date night. Pulled this. Not great, very good. Needed a short time to open up. — 3 years ago
#AgedWineTuesday
Celebrating our wedding anniversary, with a Vintage Champagne from the same year.
Light yellow in color with a golden hue.
Strong nose of bread, spices, earth, wet leaves, herbs, yeast, white pepper, lemons, yellow apples and river rocks.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and soft, small bubbles.
Dry on the palate with light citrus, over ripen apples, spices, yeast, bread, river rocks, herbs and white pepper.
Short finish with limes.
This 28 year old Champagne is still delicious, although probably on its last leg.
Showing great complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Soft and elegant.
Not much fruit is left, but enough to make it tangy and interesting.
Thank you Judy for sharing this with us.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with caviar and good friends. Very tasty, especially with the caviar.
12% alcohol by volume.

Short decant...Deep plum, forest floor, black berry, cedar bark, a hint of peppercorn. Green bell pepper and eucalyptus are highlighted to. Plush on the palate with generous berry fruit, well balanced, stands up well with ribeye steak. Moderate finish. High quality fruit but a touch thin and shorter than desired.

To celebrate 15,000 followers on Instagram, here's a beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon.
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Extremely fruity on the nose with blackberries, blueberries, raisins, figs, vanilla, cedar, toast, graphites, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, smoke, chocolates, mocha, coke and coffee.
Full bodied, smooth and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cherry pie, raisins, vanilla, cedar, leather, chocolates, tobacco, licorice, peppercorn, spices, earth, mocha and dark roast coffee.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a wonderful Napa Cabernet. Still young, but drinking very nicely now, with lots of fruits and nice complexity.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (2 hours). After 3 hours, big tannins come in.
This should lay down for another 10 years, to be appreciated even more. At this point it might be too fruity for some. Aging it for 7 to 10 years will do the trick.
I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.
Drunk from a 1 liter bottle.
14.8% alcohol by volume.

Pale lemon with complex aromas of fresh ripe citrus and tropical fruits with herbal mineral notes. Pineapple and orange citrus flavors adding grapefruit, melon & peach tones, great acidity balance, rich & smooth, long finish ending with rich bright mineral character. Nice! Had this several times, consistent quality. Short-term aging will benefit. Just outstanding — 4 years ago

A fantastic wine from a great vintage. I've had a few different vintages of this, from older to younger, and this 2012 vintage is so nice right now. Will be even better in the next 10 to 15 years.
Thank you John for sharing this with me.
Rich yet elegant. Opulent and luxurious. Delectable and delicious.
