Good wine with a bit of decanting, but a totally lovely wine after about 1 to 1.5 hours decanting. Syrupy, less tannic, vanilla, with deep berry tones. Nice with dry aged steak. — 5 years ago
Bright and vibrant. Strawberry, cranberry, cherry cola, with touch of smoke. The purity of the red fruits is the standout here. The body is a bit lean but not without substance, finishing off with lingering and authoritative mineral notes. — 6 years ago
Orange-red clear color; nose has red and black cherries, strawberries, underbrush, herbs, wet used socks (in a good way:-), flower petals, and hints of oak flavours; on the palate are red fruits, medium acids, soft tannins, candy-sweets, and a faint but lasting finish. No hints of herbacious green notes observed in my last Oregon PNs. Had with Dutch cheeses and Italian charcutery and Shostakovich 2:nd piano trio played on a master recording from 1983 by the Borodin Trio. — 6 years ago
Eighth of our seven year vertical tonight....Scratch that the 2014 and the 2003 (this one) came out too.
Mix of deep garnet and ruby red with lighter edges. Lovely aged nose with floral notes, cedar, cocoa, licorice, cassis and blackberries. Medium plus tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus to full body. Complex notes on the palate with dark spices, light forest floor, black fruits and a touch of blue too. Long finish. Drink till 2022. — 6 years ago
Super dark and concentrated in the glass. Notes of cassis, gravel and cedar dominate the nose. On the palate strong flavors of blackberry and currants fill your mouth with a rich, silky texture...a touch savory in the background. Soft(ish) tannins and low to medium acidity. Long finish. This is a really nice wine. — 7 years ago
Consumed 01/2020. Received in a shipment but not sure when. I am afraid I have cellared it for too long. The cork broke off and I made a mess getting the cork out so that I could strain it into a decanter. The wine stains are evident on the label.. They use for varietals to make this. At the time that it was released it was phenomenal. But now that I have kept it too long, I would say not as good. I need to drink the rest of it pretty quickly. 14.1% alc/vol. — 4 years ago
V16. Pretty good. Soft vanilla nose. Creamy apple and honey kissed apricot fruit. Clean finish. Nice weight and balance. Certainly on par with GOT! — 5 years ago
Sette Ponti or "seven bridges," refers to the 7 bridges crossing the Arno River on the road from Arezzo to Florence. Blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv & 10% Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in new French oak. Went to a tasting, had ‘14 & ‘15 side by side. Very dark enticing red with concentrated aromas of dark fruits & earthy notes. Flavors of cherry & plum with tobacco and spice. Firm but approachable tannins, medium length ending with a bit of spice as the finish builds. Best to drink ‘14 now. Tasting Sample. — 6 years ago
One of my favorite wines. This is nice and sweet but also crisp. A little bit bubbly but not too much. Goes really nicely with apples and peanut butter — 6 years ago
First time cracking into our stash brought home from the honeymoon! This brought back many fond memories. Quite nice stuff, as you’d expect from a producer like Evening Land. Pours a bright medium (-) straw/gold hue. Medium (+) concentration of aromatics of ripe yellow pears and apples, almond paste, lemon curd, heavy cream, clean riverbed stone minerality, soft pretzel and aged cheese rind leesiness, and a tiny bit of nutmeg and vanilla from well-applied new French oak. On the palate, the wine is focused with more flavors of lemon curd, ripe green pear, a quartz-like minerality, just-ripe starfruit, aged cheese rind and pretzel leesy character, and a tiny bit of nutmeg from that new oak. Medium (+) acid, medium (+) in-balance alcohol, dry, with a medium (-) body with a slightly oily feel. Great stuff. Meursault-like. Looking forward to further enjoying our honeymoon stash! — 6 years ago
Sweeter than I expected but still a dry dessert wine. Good with chocolate. — 7 years ago
Fantastic cherry, blackberry w hint of smoke — 7 years ago
Very nice right now. Berry nose, hint of chocolate and something else I can’t put my finger on. Well rounded for a Petit Verdot, nice and smooth once open for a bit. Nicely done. — 5 years ago
How a young PN should drink. — 5 years ago
Holy wow did this age nice. Dark fruit is nice and smooth. Reminds me of a nice French wine without the heavy tannins on the back end. — 5 years ago
Complex layers of fruit and integrating tannins. Still firm though. Few more years for this great wine. — 6 years ago
Mickenzi Schank
Lots of forward fruit, red currant and blackberry. Subtle mid palate. Just a nip of tannins on the finish. Overall smooth and easy drinking. — 4 years ago
