“There is so much wine packed into this $34 bottle it must be tasted to be believed- except that when you taste it, you can’t believe it! The cacophony of aromas, the richness of texture, the profundity of the minerality… Everything about it is extraordinary.” - Ian Cauble, SommSelect. Serve at 50° — 7 years ago
A truly sublime spirit. Serve with ice water and a sugar cube. — 8 years ago
Delicious partner to all sea food & fish , pasta & white meats. A cold glass of Piero Mancini's Vermentino will also serve as a very good apéritif. Consistent year after year; never disappointing. — 9 years ago
The sommelier poured it into a decanter to serve. Went really well with rack of lamb and also chocolate. — 9 years ago
Opened as part of an Asian-inspired dinner. Floral notes. Decided to serve room temp, not cold. Very good. — 9 years ago
Incredible value at around $15. Juicy ripe strawberries and spicy raspberry with vibrant acidity. I'm partial to the Loire, but this is truly a perfectly versatile wine you could sip poolside or serve with a wide range of cuisine. Try it with some pulled pork on a steamy summer day or a light summer salad with fresh chèvre. — 10 years ago
super delicious red serve slightly chilled — 6 years ago
2nd bottle. Outstanding. Purchased in 2018 at $25 from SommSelect. Perfectly paired with a spicy stir fry. Serve @ 55 Degrees — 7 years ago
Wow for only $18. Biodynamic with bright acidity. Serve no warmer than 50 degrees. — 9 years ago
A steal at $16. Perfect with Sushi. Ian Cauble recommended decanting for 60 minutes and serve between 45-55 degrees. Spot on! "This wine's sea air, old vines, and inimitable soil deliver a sensory experience on par with Chablis." — 9 years ago
Solid, juicy, value-driven Chinon. One of my favorite daily drinkers. Just-ripe raspberry and strawberry red fruit, fresh red floral character, that classic Chinon green bell pepper, pencil shavings, and granitic, gravelly earth. There's a tiny bit of brett too which I definitely don't mind. Moderate acidity, the '14s had a little more acid which I definitely appreciated but I don't feel like the '15s are "flabby" or lacking in acid at all either, there's still enough to balance and support the other elements. Body and tannin levels are medium (-). Overall, pretty nice juice. Serve it just warmer than cellar temp. — 10 years ago

Outstanding at $22 A SommSelect selection. Serve at 50 degrees — 7 years ago
My previous notes are listed with a click on the photo & a short scroll. I opened this bottle four hours ago. It tasted past it’s prime from the bottle we had several weeks ago. This bottle showed lots of figs, dates, prunes & Eau de Vie Brandy/Cognac. It took four hours open in bottle to get back to my previous notes that I made nearly two months ago. Now, it’s beautiful dark, rich, beautiful Cabernet. If your well stored 87 BV Rutherford tastes over the hill upon opening, I wouldn’t decant it...that would be too much air for this bottling. I would open the bottle for an hour and let it stand. Then, pour into a glass for fifteen to twenty minutes and serve. It recovers magnificently. Deliciously perfect after nearly 30 years in the bottle. For the two of us, our last pour tastes like our previous bottle did after four hours being open in bottle. A splendid recent purchase for less than $50. — 8 years ago

Barnyard funk on the nose, slightly chalky start, with blackberries and spice smooth-sailing throughout. Very refreshing on a warm day. Serve chilled! (Personal note: I had this at Gatskins in Germantown, NY. My locator function isn't working!) — 9 years ago
I am proud to introduce an Italian Super Tuscan that I have been looking for for years! This is a wonderful example of a cabernet Franc at 30%!!!!! And a cabernet sauvignon blend. If you want an affordable cab / cab franc - one of my favorites, you absolutely have to try this one. Please note, if I give a wine a perfect score it means I would be happy to serve it to anyone at anytime with my 100% confidence that they will love it and want it and love me for it!!!! OMG. This is awesome! Here we go, this is Brancatelli, Valle Delle Stelle, Toscana 2013! It is only 13.5 %! First, decant for 30 minutes!!!! The color is dark but not opaque! The legs are long, thick, slow, and numerous in number. The bouquet is sweet cherry pie baking in the oven with a spicy aroma and a fig tree with rip figs. The initial palate is of coarse blackberry and dark currant with a mid palate explosion of vanilla and spice. The finish is oaky and dry leaving you wanting a splash of water to wet your palate! I adore this wine! — 9 years ago
Lovely Pinot. Would serve to the most discerning guests — 10 years ago

Pronounced Brett. Not quite too much Brett, but close. Green pepper, Boisenberry, and blackcherry cranberry. Underripe, tart fruit. Almost effervescent on the palate. Serve at cellar temps. Funky, but enjoyable. — 6 years ago
