Such an amazing Spätlese. Honeyed nose with apricots and citrus and lime flower. Subtle yet decadent. Unreal clean minerals. So much like a scene in nature. Stunning. Palate is so nimble. Incredible purity, depth and balance. So sappy and round yet terrific cleansing acidity. This is magical. So much going on. So fresh and delicate at the same time with creamy citrus and lime fruits. Pale straw to clear in color. On the nose a perfume of honey, apricot, nectarine, a burst of slate and touch of petrol. On the palate is a nice bit of acid balanced with a touch of residual sugar. The wine glides through the middle and finishes with green apples, melon and honeysuckle. Quite a lovely wine that isn't too loud, where the low mid and highs are nuanced for your tasting pleasure. — 3 years ago

The best Riesling I tasted so far. Bright chrysanthemum color with cool & sweet aromas of jasmin, flower bouquet, and citrus on the nose. Medium-to-full-bodied coupled with fresh flavors of apricot, peach, and mint leaf on the palate. Very clean & crisp with lingering finish. Nose - quite shy, but unmistakably Riesling - not dissimilar to a warmer region like the Rheinhessen. Mineral and herbaceous at the moment, with the fruit very much a supporting act. What great potential!

Palate - huge concentration, especially on day two! Saline, tart, like an incredibly fresh lime dressed with salt - am I drinking tequila? Also so herbaceous and floral, with hints of lavender and even blue fruits.

More reserved than the powerful, fabulous 2019, but possessing a similar level of clarity in both the nose and palate, with tremendous salinity, impressive structure and a long finish. It feels a touch early to be drinking this - even with a decant - so I look forward to breaching this case again in a few years’ time.
