Crisp. Pineapple and peaches marry with salty, nutty, oxidative notes. Light but textured. Leesy, with a long finish. — 5 years ago
Salty, lightly effervescent, minerality, acid — 6 years ago
Notes of citrus zest, saline, a bit salty and just a tad oxidative but not as much as typical savagnin. — 7 years ago
Salty bright fruit. Reminiscent of vermentino on the palate. Rich up front but cleans up big time. $13.49 — 7 years ago
A classic. 100% Viura from the Zaconia vineyard, located right outside López de Heredia’s winery in Haro. Fermented in ancient oak vats with indigenous yeasts and aged in used barrels for four years, followed by another 6 years in bottle. Complex nose with oxidative notes. Chamomile, flowers, beeswax, lemon curd. Austere on the mouth, with great acidity and freshness. Long, subtly salty finish. Amazing — 4 years ago
Deep gold in the glass. This bottle was super reductive at first; but behind the pungent barnyard was lots of smoke and flint, and a seriously loaded palate of stony minerals and firm, just-ripe tropical-leaning fruits. So concentrated on the palate with dried salty yellow plums and a sweetness of ripe apples on the finish. Delicious. Definitely needed a decant though. — 5 years ago
Have always adored these wines. Traditional, full of soul and character. Would never call this 15 years old, fresh as a daisy. Ripe citrus, grilled pineapple, golden apple, iodine, anchovy, damp earth, mushroom, spring honey, tarte tartin, herbs. The warmth of the year is present in its upfront fruit, but it all departs salty mineral with persistent cut. — 5 years ago

The aromatics were typical of a Mediterranean white with flowers and minerality more so than fruit driven. Initially a creaminess to the palate which finishes quite mineral/salty. The saltiness dominates somewhat at the end which finishes bone dry. Following day a great match with fresh Pacific Oysters. — 4 years ago
