Pepperjack Barossa Shiraz is a blend of Shiraz parcels sourced from premium vineyards throughout the Barossa. Parcels selected for Pepperjack Barossa Shiraz have bright, rich fruit concentration with a range of flavours from red berries to rich plums and a hint of savoury notes.

The fruit is fermented for up to ten days depending on the parcel of fruit, then aged for 12 months in a mix of American and French Oak. Individual parcels of fruit are matured separately to maximise the blends complexity through a staged selection process. The resultant wine is soft and plush with lots of flavour, balance and a fine tannin structure — 8 years ago

Nose of; black currants. Burnt ambers, black plum, plum, blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries & warm liquid black licorice. Palate fruits are again the same as the nose. Warm rising intensity spices, baking spices; cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, the core flavor of anise, tarry notes, fresh violets, dry dark florals, crushed dry rocks, rich dark soil, soft leather. Finishes big and lush dark fruits, warm spice and beautiful acidity. I also had their 12 of out half bottle at Vintners restaurant. Really good and at an amazing QPR. Great Shiraz from Barossa with great ageing potential. Big core and good tannins, with a floral, spicy, and botanical nose. The pallet exhibits dark vibrant raspberries, black pepper, bay leaf, burnt espresso bean, and silver dollar eucalyptus toward the lingering finish. I still find the RWT to be more my style, in comparison to this beimg more lean in structure and spicy in character. It was a bit less extracted which for some is preferable, but every so often I enjoy more of a rich extracted style of wine. Overall, great effort and I would like to see this one in a few more years.

Bounding acidity meets ripe, juicy tropical fruit, as this maintains a dry, lasting finish. Paired with spicy curry, but would also go great poolside in the summer.
