Full of spice — 9 years ago
From a time when oak use was a bit more prominent here, the nose is complex but not that Blaufränkisch - oak, spice, earth and blackberries. Palate is clean, lots of fruit, silky flow, oak creaminess but with a little more of the fresh blue and black fruit and a crack of pepper. Pretty long, too. Nicely composed. — 10 years ago

Alsace Gewurz is a wine I pop when I want to reward myself. Tonight it’s a reward for getting a lot of yard-work done on a ridiculously hot and humid day and not getting dehydrated.
The nose is Gewurtzy, of course, in that it shows lychee, apricot, and musky florals, but what really sets this apart from the run-of-the-mill G-Dog is its minerality. Takes it from the verge of cloying, with which Gewurz can flirt, to something special. Soft and full in the mouth, slightly sweet. Very long finish. — 7 years ago
viscous, floral, white pepper, preserved lemon. — 9 years ago
Are you kidding me for $20!?! Such unity in this wine. Ripe peaches, lychee, and nectarine with laser acidity and maybe a touch of RS? Structure, weight, and confidence. Love this. — 9 years ago
Like a California Bordeaux blend. Nice fruit and structure and great finish. My first Austrian wine. — 10 years ago

Great tension between racy & creamy elements. Wet stones, orange peel, cream, chervil. Impeccable. #barmesbuecher #pinotblanc — 8 years ago

Single vineyard Höpler. Delicious — 9 years ago
I only wish this hadn't been my LAST drink of the night. Even so it was great. Full, powerful, berry, a little bit of dirt in a good way. Didn't need any time to open up. @Nick Rosenberg — 10 years ago
2009 Vintage. Perfect balance, sweet and crisp. Last bottle from our visit to the winery. — 11 years ago
Tangy and minerally. Fun glass cork too. — 11 years ago
I could blind this as clos vougeot. As close to perfection as I've ever found in an Austrian red and drinking perfectly at the moment. Aromatics are intense with tons of acid as well. Spicy red cherries, soy sauce, game, thyme, and salty peanuts. Woah. — 11 years ago

Charming, ethereal body, zesty acidity, apricot, Golden Delicious apples, nectarines, and well integrated RS. All this loveliness at just 8%ABV. This will just get better with age. — 7 years ago
