Pop and pour. Sublime for bourgogne blanc. The reduction has blown off, and this is pure lime, citrus blossom, a touch of vanilla and a hint of almond/hazelnut. The 2014 Mouton is midweight but packs a punch. Great intensity of fruit, particularly blackberries, but also great freshness too. Mint, minerality pop up just before a spicy finish through which the vibrancy is maintained with the wine's attractive acidity. This wine is pure class. (It's also worth mentioning that the label is by David Hockney, whose Pool just set a record for the most expensive painting ever sold by a living artist, at a mere $90.2m at Christie's in NYC!) — 7 years ago
