Shiner Texhex Bruja's Brew India Pale Ale

floral, a little spicy, very dry. Maybe projection, but I notice the cactus water and it’s pleasent. Good and unique IPA. — 2 months ago

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1979

Clear and medium deep appearance ruby garnet core and bricking garnet at the rim . Deeper and richer than the more fragile 78 , needs a bit of time to unfurl in the glass . More sous bois , red fruits , spicy tobacco , touch of cassis and grafite notes. Very nice balanced acidity with good projection of red fruits on the palate , touch of spicy tobacco but rounder , denser and riper than the 78. Fills out on the palate and on the finish, with good balance and length . This you can imagine being at its apogee and staying here for a further 5 years? — a year ago

Winemaker's Cut Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon

Unexpected delight. Decanted and allowed to breathe for about half an hour. Deep ruby color, good legs. Fragrant, fruity nose. First sip was meh. Second sip…it sprang to life. Rich cherry and blackberry. Hints of oak, vanilla, and cocoa. Tannins mellowed out and the acidity softened. Thought this was going to just an okay wine. I ended up enjoying it more than I thought. Would happily purchase again. — 9 months ago

Les Longeroies Marsannay Pinot Noir 2019

2019 | Pinot Noir
Louis Jadot; 'Longeroies'
Burgundy; Côte de Nuits, Marsannay-la-Côte, France

Perhaps my drinking range projection on release was a little over stated (3-5Y), as tonight with a 1.5H decant, fruit is abundant, raspberry/cherry jam, lovely. Drink now?

Château Prieuré-Lichine

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

2015 vintage. Last tasted 8.7.22. Rated 9.3. The spearmint and smoke fully invested in the nose. Medium body. Mushroom, coffee grounds, toffee, cinnamon, raisin still in the flavor profile. Tannins holding court on the finish. Initial impression was that the tannins were powdery but with a little bit of airtime, the tannins picked up serious steam. Best showing out of multiple bottles tasted in the last two years. Tasting now like top of the bell curve/the optimal pleasure zone will be roughly 2029-2039. Enough stuffing/fail safes to conservatively support that projection. — a year ago

Grand Cru Sommerberg Pinot Gris 2010

Quel éclat, quelle classe! Un équilibre acidité sucre résiduel exemplaire. Très très long. Grande projection aromatique du nez, j'aurais passé la soirée le nez dans le verre. Entre demi-sec et moelleux, je dirais. — 4 years ago

Muschelkalk Müller Thurgau 2014

On the Lawn for Sting tonight!
Very floral, needing several hours to open up. Guessing the '14 is going to peak in about two years.
Day 5: Finally finishing this bottle, not sure how this is possible, but the acidity actually picked up! New projection is another 3+ years of life left. Beautiful.

It's pretty interesting, layered, complex, wine geek, small production stuff. Represented by Vineyard Road in MA, but not sure if the M-T comes into the state, I always have to get from outside MA resources. Glad you enjoyed, we'll cross paths again.

Hard to get - Lyle Fass sometimes has some - he is an email futures guy only and you have to wait for the email then buy within hours. Max Kogod has their Pinot's and told me he will get some whites as well. I buy all of their wines and their pinot's are absolutely world class. I have seen them now in LA, New Orleans, Portland, New York, San Diego. The Rose is also a killer and stupid cheap for what it is and of the Pinot Muschelkalk they sometimes have just one barrel. Their mid level Pinot called Liaison is relativ widely distributed but sells out fast the 15 is almost gone in the US. 2016 and 2017 will be low yield vintages a bummer.

I do get some from Lyle and also some retail in NYC, but you do have to hunt and have patience. Love the Liason and rosé, I'm trying to secure some on the '17's, as I have been alerted on the importer side about the same low yield info. We might have a Bye Vintage on the Bunt. or Musch. pinots for '17...Fingers crossed.
