Homemade pizza with a 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva from Castello di Monsanto. The wine displays aromas of red currant, black berries, spices, licorice, green pepper and some other herbal notes. The palate confirms the nose with the dark berry notes. Medium finish and some chewy tannins. We decanted it for 1 hour. Lovely bottle for the price point.

This is a wine to be enjoyed any way you like. For example, on a Friday night after a busy week when you only have energy for pizza in front of the TV.
