Beautifully aged Third Growth Bordeaux. We are not sure about the actual blend but guessing equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. (Maybe some Petite Verdot added to bring about the beautiful color and floral component?) Bright ruby color. (Deeper ruby than I would have guessed for a wine of this age). Beautifully aromatic with notes of blackberry, burnt rubber, purple flowers, ash and coffee on the nose. Pallet also features blackberry, with hints of mineral, black licorice and black currant. Long and nicely smoky finish. Ripe, dense and full bodied. Unbelievably fresh for a wine of twenty-plus years of age. Simply incredible. Thank you so much Kasey and Pete for sharing this bottle. Had the pleasure of revisiting this wine again in July 2023. Spectacular! — 2 years ago
Just at its peak. Equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with just a touch of Cabernet Franc. Concentrated and dried cherry, blueberry and prune aromas with hints of mushroom, Forrest Floor and purple flowers. Same fruits on the pallet with a beautiful viscous texture and a touch of smoke on the finish. Dense and Full! What a treat! Thanks Kasey and Pete! — 4 years ago
Dark ruby color. Very funky and somewhat hot right out of the bottle. Eventually, aromas and flavors of jammy black cherry/berry/currant did emerge with additional hints of coffee and toasted oak. Acidity was pretty bright, great on the mid-palate, but the finish was very short. Medium-plus body and fairly rich. Much brighter and better on the second day. Appreciate you sharing this bottle, Pete and Kasey. — a year ago
Lovely dark amber color. Beautiful aromas and flavors of caramel, molasses, maple syrup, citrus zest and roasted nuts. Hint of saline on the long and luxurious finish. Sweetness is certainly there but there is also nice minerality (and that hint of saline) that really keeps this Wine extremely well balanced. Fresh and lively. This one makes me wonder why I do not enjoy sherry more often. Thanks again to Kasey and Pete. Happy Birthday, Carol. — 2 years ago
Another solid vintage of this expressive Napa Cab. Deep purple color. Bold aromas of blackberry, violets and black currant. Pallet is rich with bold blackberry fruit, baking spices, vanilla, cocoa and grilled herbs. Full bodied with a beautiful earthy component. Finish is long and lingering. Quite concentrated. Solid Napa Cabernet that is reasonably priced. Should continue to age beautifully. Thank You Pete and Kase! — 2 years ago
Went well with charcuterie - goat milk camembert, triple cream black cardamom guernsey, local St Pete honey, copa, chorizo, salami. — 2 years ago
