Nice to taste this Santa Maria Valley bottling alongside the Sta. Rita Hills one. Riper, darker fruits profile but there is still freshness here. Oak is more prominent. Earthier as well with light mushroom and tea leaf notes. Plush palate.
This is a more complex and deeper wine. But I prefer the Sanford bottling slightly. — 3 years ago
A rich crimson in colour with a little bricking developing - a tawny rim. Aromas of cassis, plum and dark chocolate on the nose. Smooth and silky with black currant - totally balanced with resolved tannins. The proverbial iron fist in the velvet glove - great density. See previous notes - I’ve never seen this for sale in Australia. Bought this from Vinfolio in San Francisco and was immediately impressed. A world class new world Cabernet - just gorgeous. 100 points from Robert Parker and also Jeb Dunnuck - tempted to do the same - I settled on 99. The best wine I’ve had this year. — 5 years ago

Another good, classic, Bordeaux from 2001. Tart blackberries, leather, pencil shavings and nice balance. Med/full body and med-short finish. Tannins surprisingly higher than expected but I believe it's time to drink em up. — 7 years ago

1 hour decant (lots of sediment). An amazing dark ruby red color with some bricking. On the nose: nice mellow nose draws you in with sweet black cherry, eucalyptus, little funky earth, wet forest floor, and oak. Taste: silky smooth medium body wine with red berries, cedar, cassis, and a dry pencil lead medium plus finish. Pop one if you got em it will not disappoint! Cheers! — 5 years ago

This is a great Syrah from Washington State. Showing great complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Elegant, yet rich. Just Beautiful.
This 12 year old is drinking very nicely now and will continue to age nicely in the next decade.
Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show some tannins.

This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Big and bold. Spicy and tangy. Showing nice complexity at this point.
This 6 year old is drinking beautifully now. Rich yet elegant. Extracted and easy drinking. Well balanced and really delicious.
A beautiful surprise. I had the 2016 a few years ago, and this is drinking much better now. I did not expect it from the 2017 vintage.
Thank you Mike for sharing this with me.
Good right out of the bottle, and good by itself as a sipping wine. Robert Parker 93 points.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

June. 2016 Robert Parker 給1989年這瓶滿分100,並稱其為 80 年代 Bordeaux 前5名!
65% Cabernet Sauvignon
25% Merlot
10% Cabernet Franc

Nice and light, not too sweet, with lovely notes of peaches and apricots, exactly as described on the bottle! — 5 years ago
We were all surprised that it drank much like a California Cab. Nose was not at all what you would expect from a 2nd growth. We were all wondering if this was from a “Parker” barrel.
Ito definitely needed 2 hours to open up. I’m. It sure if time will integrate this one.? — 8 years ago
