Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2017

Village Barbaresco (100% Nebbiolo) from various vineyards - including fruit from the prestigious Ovello, Montestefano and Rio Sordo crus. Perfumed and ethereal, quite fruit-forward on the nose with aromas of cherry, rose petal, pine needles and earthy notes and a whiff of tar. Juicy, slightly rustic on the palate with flavors of crunchy red fruit (cherry, cranberry), licorice. Quite dry, slightly harsh tannins (drinking this very young). High acidity. Pairs great with mushrooms — 4 years ago

Seta Barbera d'Alba Superiore 2014

Плотное, с умеренной кислотностью, нетанинное, очень приличное. Запах землистый, пыльно-шоколадный. Ровное и спокойное, свежее из-за кислотности. — 5 years ago

Riserva Rabaja' Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2009

Since @Keith Crump opened a Rio Sordo I took out a Rabaja (thanks Keith for inspiring me 😁). It just kept me coming back for more. I adore those type of wines that suddenly make me forget about being "concious" what I'm drinking and make me realise it's just good! — 7 years ago

San Valentino Sangiovese Blend 2015

Alex deftly decanted by glads with Vinturi Aerator. This rich blend of Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Montepulciano fills the palette. Sour cherries, salty bacon, scraped leather, lasting finish. Paola Bea, a master of Umbrian wine! — 4 years ago

Drinking beautifully. Just what one should expect from a 2013 Barolo from Perno. Color, balance, fruit to tannan, freshness, sipping and strength to food. — 4 years ago

Nose is beautiful. Softened cherry fruit.

Palate is still fresh. Cherries. Some spice. Still tannic.

Monvigliero Barolo Nebbiolo 2013

The orangish edges made me doubtful, but this is great. Very lively- strawberry nose. Red fruits, licorice, pepper. Strong acidity and tannins make me think I should buy more and sit on it for a few years. — 6 years ago

Azienda Pier

Rio Sordo Barbaresco 2009

Rust showing on the rim... Crunchy red berry with hints of VA. Evergreen pine scent and a sultry black cherry round. Chi tea spice and ginger round out the nose. Fresh palate with juicy cherry transitions into mocha flavors. Finishes dry and with a delicious factor. With air this becomes more oxidative. Drink now. — 7 years ago

Paola has created a great Brunate in ‘14. Wines from here can be too heavy and intense, but here all’s in place. Impressive considering the vintage, offering tell tale varietal character. — 7 years ago
