From the great 2001 vintage. This vineyard is on the flatter country by the river where the soils are sandy. Slightly stinky nose - Fleshy palate. Great length. The full Nebbiolo package. A privilege. This was a fitting final wine in the Italian wine and Food Tour organised by Peter Scudamore-Smith MW and his wife Denise. Peter's contacts with the wineries and his depth of knowledge is exemplary. Together with the restaurants (a WOW List) and accommodation Peter and Denise provided an experience which exceeded expectations. We will be taking their Sicily trip in the next few years. Highly recommended to all Wine and Food lovers. Also this 2001 Rio Sordo was from the Produttori del Barbaresco.
