Saved this for Paloma. Drank with new abuelos — 6 years ago
The best merlot coming out of Napa? Hard to say, but definitely in the top three for me (Paloma, Hourglass and this). So much fruit wrapped in a silky package (@Bill Bender don’t go there). Hedonistic, but still so balanced. And an ‘11 to boot. This followed two exceptional wines and held its own. — 6 years ago

Sensational Grenache naturel from gaillac. C'est pas du blanc. — 8 years ago
Excellent CNdP with my ribs from Salt Grass Steakhouse. NYE ‘20. With Elissa, Dan, and Paloma. Perfectly aged. Long finish. — 3 years ago
Really enjoyed it on the rocks. Also recommended by friend to mix one part vodka with two parts silver tequila, grapefruit juice and club soda over ice for a refreshing take on a Paloma! — 5 years ago
Lovely older Syrah fruit, plums mostly, also some pine notes, first commercial vintage of the Paloma Syrah (and only one labeled Milagro, a legal issue), medium-long finish, neutral oak, love it!! A tribute to the greatness of Barbara and Jim Richards!! — 5 years ago
2011 vintage - dark chocolate, dark berries, somewhat dry. — 6 years ago
Xmas 2017 gift from Paloma. Low alcohol 5.5% fun and sweet — 7 years ago
Wife says it’s “dangerous” 😁 — 3 years ago
This started rocking after an hour. Chalky and freshly squeezed blackberries and plum on the nose. Black cherry on the palate with awesome cinnamon and baked berry medley pie. Still young, but killer merlot. Spring Mtn merlots (Pride, Keenan, Paloma) are the best in Napa in my opinion! Nice bottle @David Schoonover ! — 6 years ago
3 good things about a 3 day weekend. Dodgers vs Padres with Kershaw on the hill followed by one of my favorite merlots. The mailbox reserve is right up there with Paloma and Switchback--rich, weighty and lush. Spring mountain does something with merlot that makes me seek them out. The '13 is still youthful and needs time to shed some tannin so I'd hold for optimum enjoyment.....and optimum enjoyment is always the goal. Happy Labor Day weekend 👷🏽💼🍷🍈🍈 — 7 years ago
A Chilean Syrah, eh? It's clear this is another wine by controversial French winemaker Louis-Antoine Luyt, as it smells French. Pleasantly surprising, with ripe fruit up front followed by cement dust, asphalt, savory olive notes, a bit of watermelon candy, and white peppercorns. Impressive and big. Would never have guessed this is from Chile, though the dark, aggressive terroir does hint at its origin. — 8 years ago
