Vintner Select Cuvee Sonoma County Merlot

This started rocking after an hour. Chalky and freshly squeezed blackberries and plum on the nose. Black cherry on the palate with awesome cinnamon and baked berry medley pie. Still young, but killer merlot. Spring Mtn merlots (Pride, Keenan, Paloma) are the best in Napa in my opinion! Nice bottle @David Schoonover !

Great structure and focus. Oak, fruit, acid are all in harmony. The vintners Select is all clone 6 if I recall. Age worthy no doubt, but why wait if you don't have to!?

I don't normally drink Merlot but when I do I drink with Pride!

Well, it's Pride. And it's been open for 24 hours. Actually pretty good. Most of their stuff I think is highly overrated. This I like. Balanced, good acidity, even a hair of spice

Merlot merlot merlot. Why don't we see more merlots on delectable? Well I get it. Cab is King, like LeBron, I know. But this merlot is rich in dark chocolate, cedar and black cherries. High alcohol gives it a tongue smacking feel which I like. Trust me, blind taste test you would say cab. To be fair no one does merlot like Pride. Deep rich red, nose of jam and sweet tar
