Rutherford Merlot

Incredible merlot. Strong rich blue fruit. Elegant finish that is mellow in tannic structure. Slight dried fruit aroma with coffee and French vanilla teasing my nose.
The end is the best. Long, soft, and rich.

Bright red and black fruit upfront. Evolves nicely, peeling back layers of mocha, rich earth, and more fruit. Seamless mouthfeel and a longer finish than anything you've been calling Merlot... probably the best I've had since the 2001 Paloma.

Sweet vanilla, subtle tannin, medium to full body.

This is a wine that aged phenomenally. One of the top merlots I’ve had anywhere. But the age is so key to mellowing this out. Super drinkable wine. But 10+ years in the bottle is necessary to put it into great.

Last of a half case and sorry to see them go though I believe we are at full maturity and I’ve seen the best expression of this vintage. Totally enjoyable - hints of cassis with a dusting of cocoa.

Inky purple Merlot from Rutherford. Abundant chocolate, cassis and dark cherry with a classic smoke finish. This is a full-bodied Merlot. After 8 years of bottle age the tannins have softened. This is as good as good as it gets in Napa. If you want to reintroduce a Merlot into your life, try this one.

Dead ringer for a California cabernet.

Great flavor, solid Cali merlot

Almost a grape jolly rancher on the nose, full fruit, yet big alcohol bite on the end. Had paired with a medium filet and a creamy cheese. It worked much better with food than on its own, but still wonderful either way

Excellent 99 percent merlot enjoyed by everyone at our table. Paired with bucatini pasta with bottarga and uni butter at St Supery wine dinner.
