This is a lovely old vine Zinfandel from various vineyards Bedrock sources their juice from, smooth, balanced, long finish, but a great example of what not to serve AFTER a Bedrock single vineyard wine (like the 2023 Old Hill Heritage we just finished), I’m happy to open this any day of the week, but the comparison is stark! — 5 days ago

Total sleeper: while the label simply says ‘Syrah’, the reality in the making of it is that it’s a co-fermentation of 85% Syrah from some of Bedrock’s prized vineyards and (about) about 15% Viognier. And man does it work- particularly for the price.

+1 hour decant(lots of fine/cloudy sediment). A splendid still inky dark garnet with bricking. On the nose: expressive notes of dark red fruit, currants, smoked meat, tobacco leaf, scorched earth, nutmeg. Taste: silky, layered, rich wine with ripe blackberry/blueberry, earth, baking spice, chocolate, and a long minerally espresso never-ending finish. YUM!! — 4 months ago
