Nice elegant, fruity wine for good evenings with friends on weekends. — 3 years ago
Okay - fine. It’s a good, probably great wine. Overpriced? Yes. Opus is filled with pretentious douchbags? Double yes. But this is a well-made wine bridging a gap between Napa and Boudreaux. Dusty nose with menthol, earl grey tea, tobacco, flowers, cassis, and creamy dark fruits. It has a really nice velvety finish. — 6 years ago
Another nice Guigal. Soft, generous, good value. — 7 years ago
Yum! Nice soft tannins, with notes of raspberry and clove. Lovely to end the night with :) — 8 years ago
Very nice pinot noir but not traditional by pinot standards. Very clean and complex. Layers of great berry fruit and spice. Interesting textures. Very pleasant finish. — 9 years ago
Blend of 83% Zinfandel, 10% Petite Sirah, 3% Alicante and 4% other reds, deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits and pepper spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with cinnamon spice. Fine lively tannins, vivid acidity, nice balance, medium+ finish ending with a fruit character and slight notice of alcohol. Good value! Drink now! — 8 months ago
A perfectly smooth and well balanced new world red to enjoy with new friends at a nice old school New York City swanky hotel. Had this first as my float into a Devil’s Margarita which opened into a lovely discussion with some bar mates - and the end of which I made 2 new friends. A normal standalone glass of this is also quite wonderful and can stand by itself or go well with an accompaniment: snacks, cheese or a meal! — 10 months ago
Whew! Light body, balanced fruit, good carbonation. Really nice! — 3 years ago
Old school. Has some of that over extracted warmth but nothing compared to the Napa Valley juice from the same year. Nice leather tones. Good stuff. Will only get better with age. On the upward slope. — 7 years ago
Blend of reds that is smooth and nice for inexpensive wine. Nice — 7 years ago
Does not disappoint. Widely available, inexpensive, spicy with a nice long finish. Great for the summer. At less than $20, The 2008 is a fav — 8 years ago
Very heavy, dark fruit Pinot. Nice depth for a Pinot. A lot of cherry on the front end. — 10 years ago
Probably my favorite and, in my mind, the most consistent Spanish wine out there. A deep dark plum color in the glass. The nose absolutely shines with cedar and plenty of spice. There’s a bit of smoke here along with cherry cola and a little more spice. Dried herbs and chocolate round things out.
A preponderance of Tempranillo with a nice chunk of Garnacha in the blend. Obviously still so young but readily approachable and enjoyable now. The extended aging makes a world of difference with this wine vintage in and vintage out. Rich and full of personality, this is a beautiful wine that’s just going to continue to grow with age. — 8 months ago
NOSE: blackberry and blueberry - juicy and fresh. Mild baking spice. Smells simple but inviting.
TASTE: quite pleasant. Soft (but not too soft - enough tannin and heft and nice acidity to balance), fruity (dark berries as the nose). Finishes with cherry and a little woody tannin, but still silky, Perfect example of simple, approachable wine done very well - no off tastes whatever. This is enjoyable and a good deal for the $13 I paid, in my opinion. 90. — 2 years ago
Spicy, chewy, nice — 7 years ago
Has become a favorite! Nice currant taste, smooth — 8 years ago
I keep coming back to this bottle, just let it breath for a couple of minutes or areate. Nice balance of acidity and sweetness. And the best of all is how affordable, definitely one of the best daily drinkers out there. — 8 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs and earthy oak spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry, raspberry and currants @ with espresso, cacao and earthy notes. Well balanced, lively acidity, fine ripe tannins long ending with fruit, oak, mineral and tobacco spice! Nice Napa Cab! — 8 months ago
