NV. Great clarity with lots of bubbles. On the nose: buttery biscuits and crisp yellow apples. On the palette, juicy yellow apples. Great fizzy body when swished in the mouth. Crisp enough for me, but not as sharp as some other grand crus that I have had (eg., Mailly is very crisp with a little graphite/no biscuit). Long, dry finish that leaves a little bit of biscuit in the mouth. A really lovely grand cru champers that you'll want to throw back. 12% ABV. — 8 years ago

Mineral-driven, acidic German riesling. Almond, melon, citrus fruits, buttered popcorn, and hints of butterscotch. Superb. — 9 years ago

Pale to Mid Lemon in colour. Aromas of passion fruit with some barrel ferment character. Refreshing with low acid. A little Sauvignon Gris and Semillon in the blend so the label says. A delicious wine. A little oak complements SB eg. like Bordeaux Blanc. — 7 years ago
The bottle doesn't give it justice. Yes thats right its shaped like a cat. This wine is the right amount of sweet to tart ratio. This is a German Riesling made by Moselland Wine Company. I think that all should give this one a try. — 9 years ago
Fresh, briary, lean, and refreshing. What a consistently phenomenal wine....and to think I worried about this vintage because the supplier dropped the price, and the ABV plummeted from 13 to 12! it's even better than ever. Lionel Faury can do no wrong. Buy buy buy. Feels very St Joseph. A perennial fave to pair with spicy fare eg. grilled chicken & black bean burritos or Indian food. — 10 years ago

The term fixin is an expression used in the Deep South that means "getting ready to", eg. "I'm fixin to get a pallet of this Pinot from Fixin." I have never had a burgundy that knocked me off my high horse (but then again I have never had DRC). From what burgundies I have tried I was expecting an elegant, feminine serving of light brown dirt water. How wrong was I. This wine has the rich red appearance of Central Otago Pinot. It's full bodied presence is insistent without being over bearing. The rich red flavour of this wine is captivating with a velvet finish that delivers the perfect coup de grâce. Glorious. — 10 years ago

I thought I would get into Guigal’s 2012 Ch. N. De P. To see if it was worth stocking up for the long haul. It is. Not the deepest EG has ever produced. But the structure is solid with a fair bit of cassis, wet stones, leather, tobacco, black licorice. Tannins are there, but not fierce. Not sure how much aging will affect the wine, but even if it stays as is that’s okay. — 7 years ago
