Hints of lemon, apricot, jasmine & banana. Light to medium bodied, not too acidic. Light fruit taste with a short finish. — 5 years ago

I’m surprised by how good this is. Not quite whiskey, and not quite bourbon. Whiskbon? — 7 years ago
There's a lot to like about this whisky. There's also quite a lot not to like. The intense vanilla, caramel, mocha flavors are delicious and sustain beautifully. However, there isn't the elegance or smoothness of a great whisky. Better than most large production options at a similar price point and a worthy addition to the home bar.

Applewood, poached pear, maple syrup and pecans with black lime, ginger lemon-honey, orange bitters, rosemary, baked sweet potatoes oozing créme fraîche, brown sugar and caramel. It’s a noseful! Hot, herbaceous mouthful on the coat. Warm maduro-caramel turns noir in the slanted chiaroscuros of toffee and brittle, respectively. Big lemon citrus with orange zest, banana bread, sage, allspice, mace, cedar, pipe tobacco puff, black raisin, with a svelte acid streak running the length of a generous satin mouthfeel. Impossible value here. Complex notes from the mash make this sparkle with edgy notes of bottled lightning. #Michters #Michterssmallbatch #Michterssmallbatchsourmash #Michterssourmash #whiskey #Anericanwhiskey #KYwhiskey #ky #fermentedmash #upcycledmash #mash #louisvilleky #Michtersdistillery — 5 years ago
The 2015 vintage set a record for perfect 100 Point wines from Wine Enthusiast, and around half of those were from Saint Émilion. At $40/bottle buy this one!
Not as layered or deep as the best Bordeaux’s, this is earthy and smooth with a satisfying finish that just leaves you wanting a bit more. Again, at $40, I think the “bit more” would likely cost you 3-4 multiples at least. — 5 years ago
@Plate & Bottle Summer Dinner.
Main Course, Beef Skirt Steak, Roasted Tomato, Artichoke, Potato Mousseline. Steak has mash potato, roasted tomato relish, lemony artichoke purée with a smokey component.
Hedy is an amazingly, creative Chef.
Superb food & the wine pairing doesn’t suck as a friend of mine is famous for saying.

100% Pineau d’Aunis, Pét-Nat.
Interesting light strawberry/salmon color.
Nose is faint strawberry, dusted with white pepper.
Palate has light strawberry/cranberry mash with white pepper. Finish is medium.
Solid bottle for under $13 which I will buy again!!! — 7 years ago
The 2014 Mouton is midweight but packs a punch. Great intensity of fruit, particularly blackberries, but also great freshness too. Mint, minerality pop up just before a spicy finish through which the vibrancy is maintained with the wine's attractive acidity. This wine is pure class. (It's also worth mentioning that the label is by David Hockney, whose Pool just set a record for the most expensive painting ever sold by a living artist, at a mere $90.2m at Christie's in NYC!) — 7 years ago
Extremely smooth - great start for an Old Fashion. — 8 years ago
Amazing! So many complex and delicious flavors! — 5 years ago
Whoa! A killer wine for a school night...Michel Rolland has another winner here. Definitely needs a little time to open up - a little spicy, super nice ripe fruit, licorice... almost surprising that it’s a merlot. Enjoyed in June 2020. Actually worked well with chicken fried steak, mash potatoes and gravy. — 6 years ago
Uncorked ~30m, then ~15m rest in glass.
Nose has oxidized yellow apple, white flowers and fresh baked bread.
Palate has buttery yellow apple mash, oxidized strawberry, great mineral balance and a long finish.
I've finally met a Brice bottle I can fully embrace, this vintage selection is just perfect, approachable in its youth and quite elegant. — 7 years ago

Incredibly expressive. Lot's of fresh red fruits, with a mash of stemy, earthy, and flowery stuff. — 8 years ago
2010 Rippon Mature Vine Pinot Noir & Harold Alexander’s Soul Jazz masterpiece Sunshine Man. New Zealand Pinot continues to be a revelation, and this one is terrific. This record is layered and detailed, yet remains exuberant and easy to love. The wine fits the exact same description. — 8 years ago
Severn G

Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Solid producer, no new notes:
Nose has wet strawberry, orange peel, ripe stone fruits, pineapple core and light, fresh brioche notes.
Palate has strawberry-raspberry mash (light), orange/grapefruit pith, ripe peach (light) and wonderful limestone backbone. — 5 years ago
