Consistently great wine. Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, dark berry, dark cherry, currants, cinnamon and spice, dark chocolate and smoked oak. On the palate, rich and full bodied, jammy fruits, dark berries and cherry, dark chocolate, hints of cinnamon, balsamic and espresso, smokiness/smoked oak. Long finish with hints of smoked citrus rind. Nice, chewy tannins. — 7 months ago
Blend of equal amounts of local red grapes; Caino, Espadeiro and Loueiro, Ruby red color with aromas of red fruits, herb, floral and cigar box notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with tobacco, oak and garden herbs. Medium+ finish, chalky tannins, savory, ending with herbs, spice, cedar and slight fruit, savory. Nice, will continue to age. — 8 months ago

Syrah 70% / Cab Sauv 14% / PV 16%
Varietally fermented & aged. French oak (10-14 months), then assemblage.
Prominent roasted, smokey aromas, leather, blueberry, blackberry, menthol, coffee bean, clove, black pepper, dried violets, pencil shavings.
Ripe blackberry, blueberry, and plum; vanilla bean, cocoa nib, black pepper, crushed rock / graphite. Fresh acidity; tannins resolving nicely but still robust.
Drink now with food now or revisit in 2-3yrs. (Nb. variance has been a factor - some have peaked) — 9 months ago
A Cabo Costco find. Nice value priced wine. Would buy again. — 2 years ago
If I had rated this one the night I opened it, I would have given it a slightly lower score. At first, I caught aromas of leather and meat drippings and flavors of sundried tomatoes. A couple of nights later, the wine had opened up nicely and had more floral and spice aromas and flavors of red berries and earth. Needless to say, an interesting wine, indeed. And from the Canary Islands! Huh. 90% Listan Negro, 10% Castellana Negra. 9/1/22. — 3 years ago

Very balanced with room to grow. The legs show the complexity and the smell is dry and layered. Very Good with Iberico — 6 months ago

Well, glad I kept this for another 6 years to see how it evolved. Cork was in amazing shape. Brick red. Almost tawny in glass. Dried flowers and herbs on the nose. Not a lot of fruit on the nose. Palate is more dried flowers, roses, leather, the faintest touch of pouch tobacco, plums, dried fig, maybe persimmon. It dries the mouth with tannin and acidity. Definitely secondary flavors starting. Probably the best wine deal I’ve ever had for this type of quality. Wish I had one more to try in 2028. — 5 months ago
