Such an interesting wine...not in the same league as the Marnes Bleues, but still pretty. Nose with distinct minerality, something really fresh like clean linen, orange peel, slight peppery spice, tiny hint of fennel? light on the jura funk though! Celebrating Bastille Day with the spring dinner of the Confrerie St Etienne of Alsace association. Wonderful menu and perfectly paired wines.

Lemon and pear. Repeat. Lots of reductive notes on this wine. Not sure I would have called Alsatian Riesling blind. Hardly any petrol. Viscous. Definitely best served chilled. Once it warmed, the flavors became too melded (lots of pear, lemon tart, and stone fruit). Needs time. — 7 years ago
