Nose: tobacco, black cherry, plum, “scented marker” or “circus peanut” aroma. Taste: cooked fruit, raisin, maybe cotton candy?, after open for a while had chocolate, complex, perfectly balanced with cleansing tannins — 6 years ago
We normally don't care for whites, but we like this one. Light & smooth. — 7 years ago
US Post Office Box, dry erase marker, green banana, with some tropical fruit. A boat load of minerals. This is Petit Chablis?? — 7 years ago
You haven’t really lived until you’ve tasted Russell Bevan’s wine. His 2014 Ontogeny had me exclaiming “OH.... Daaaaayuuuum....” after my first sniff, and then again after each of the subsequent eight or ten sips with various and usually increasing changes in inflection. Blackberry compote drenched in crème de cassis accented with smoked brisket and white flowers. Tertiary notes of lavender, leather, a faint tinge of brett, and a little magic marker provide an exotic backdrop for a wine that exudes its own Napa style. — 8 years ago

Lovely expression of Xinomavro!
Nice and dry with essence of sharpie marker. — 4 years ago
Lavender, spice/cardamon, permanent marker — 6 years ago
Strong licorice and black cherry, black plum on the nose. Almost inky like a magic marker. Confirmed on palate but smooth and elegant. Low acid, low tannin. Integrated coconutty oak. Great wine. — 7 years ago
Oaky, vanilla, dark fruit, magic marker, — 8 years ago
Dark fruits, strawberry, light oak/vanilla, full bodied, balanced alcohol, moderate to strong tannins on finish, slight “scented marker” finish. — 6 years ago
Dark delicious compact flavors. Would have made it over the 9.0 marker but I felt it lacked a touch of acidity and I guess I’m in a critical mood today 😆 — 6 years ago
Drank 7/12/18. Tasing event.
Big nose of jammy red and black fruit mixed with licorice and cocoa powder (magic marker?) Blackberry and black licorice on the palate with leather and dusty tannins. Dark fruit, spice, and tannins (well integrated) on the finish.

Rob Iracane
Surprisingly refined and restrained expression of Pinot noir. Paired with polenta and chicken not too overly seasoned to hide the subtlety of the wine. — 4 years ago
