Unscrew and pour yesterday. Noted from 24 hrs open. Fantastic PQR. Lovely meyer lemon and soft mango notes, some oak-influenced vanilla, but very stylish. A modern style of Margaret River Chardonnay ( think Deep Woods Estate Reserve- not Leeuwin Estate Art Series which is more old school). Lees stirring Burnt match, grilled nuts and lime. Funky. The type of Chardonnay that wins Trophies at major wine shows in Australia. Tasted again 70 weeks later on 5th May 2019 with consistent notes. The above still applies. Wow; how maturing #margaretriver #chardonnay does vary; see recent #cullen #2009 which was brassy, this gleaming green and plenty of it; #cullen restrained, this #capementelle is butch; nose power of smoke or burnt things, bottle age nose not simple, evidence of lees/ mlf from the smoke; palate chunky, lime juice, burnt toast you taste in 30 yo Eden Valley riesling; juicy smoke; rich, not terribly drying, acid taut, 13%, AUD 35, full bodied, no apparent reason for it to fade for a while; contained power. #uncorkedandcultivated #wineandfoodtours — 10 years ago

Brilliant silver-straw. Lime zest, honeysuckle, succulent herbs and chalky minerals on the incisive nose. Dry, tightly focused and lithe on the palate, offering intense citrus and orchard fruit flavors that reveal a hint of waxiness and a refreshingly bitter quinine note.
