Great bottle! No 🐞 problem with this one. Quite complex and in a very good way right now. — 7 months ago

Clos Saint Jacques Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2009

Initially nice with red fruits, opening up with more forest floor after about 15 mins. 30 mins later, the heat of the vintage comes out. So, really enjoyable, but only for a pretty narrow window of time. — 10 months ago

Perle d'Aurore Crémant de Bourgogne Brut Rosé

A delightful Brut with the crispness of pear and green apple accented with strawberry and raspberry. A nice rose to celebrate my nephew's 1st birthday and to enjoy on a sunny Sunday. — 5 years ago

Domaine Jean-Louis Chave

Offerus Saint-Joseph Syrah 2014

Upfront and transparent and confrontational. Strong posture. Wears a leather jacket in the summer. Blood and rust and repressed tears and a grainy black and white western. Cigarettes that he rips the filter off of to make them stronger. — 7 years ago

Domaine des Héritiers Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay

Such elegance and structure. Fruit, minerality, and acids all in beautiful harmony. Plenty of life ahead of it. 2004 vintage. — 10 years ago

Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay 2020

Of all the unoaked Chardonnays I’ve had, this is probably my least favorite. Too much minerality in this wine for me. — 8 months ago

Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1990

Tasted blind. On to the reds, we're served two side by side. This is light tawny color, translucent. Masculine nose. Notes of black fruit, dark earth, cherries and some hickory. Very rustic, which led me to a 1989 guess as to the vintage. Guessed 89 Rousseau Clos de Beze. I've had this Jadot bottle several times over the years... this was clearly the best performance for it, and bottles like tonight's easily have another decade in front of it but I don't think it will get any better with more age. — 5 years ago

Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

This was our second bottle. First was uninspiring and despite the 97pt RP rating, found it to be disappointing. The trick is to let it breathe for at least an hour to let the flavors develop. It is no Opus One but very satisfying with a juicy steak or just plain enjoyment! — 8 years ago

I mean come on, please come back from retirement 😉. Kidding aside good fortunes to them and unfortunately for me I am late to this party! A complete and wonderful wine! — 9 years ago

I'm in the same boat. Tasted their wines for the very first time this month and fell in love. I was really sad to hear it was their last vintage. 💔

Ganevat en billat, roche aux moines, les ursules : all three spectacular but if I need to pick one: Ganevat. They were all six outstanding quite frankly. Nice concept I picked 3 and let pascaline pick a “contrepoint” wine.

Mâcon-Villages Chardonnay 1559

Easy drinker. Pale straw hues in the glass and medium white fruits on the nose. Light citrusy lemon, melon and green apple on the palate. A good balance of acidity and minerality. Don't kill this with an icy chill. Drink this with a light chill for optimum flavor. — 9 months ago

Farconnet Hermitage Syrah 2011

Sneaky ripe for an Hermitage. A lot of fruit right out of the gate, but as it warms/breathes...The classic tar, meat and leather starts to emerge. What a wine — 8 years ago
