Les Hauts De Lagarde

Domaine des Hauts Baigneux

Blanc Chenin 2020

Medium bodied but with an impressive acidity that sort of fools you to believe this is a lighter bodied wine. Yellow fruits, marzipan, ginger, lemons. Slightly rounded. — 18 days ago

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

I love this. Will definitely buy again. All the tasting notes I love. I purchased at total from reading their description. Happy with my purchase. Has the fruit and florals and body i like. Not to fruity. Soft. Still learning to match worded to tastes and scents. — a month ago

Interesting wine. Apple and cut grass. There is a slight oxidised note on the palate. Quite mealy and a bit of a yeast note on the end. Great food wine. — 10 days ago

Delicious. Nose of crushed plums, rose petals, and earthier tones too. First sensation on and past the lips makes good on all the promise in that nose and the mid-palate seals the deal. LUSh. Layers that meld seamlessly. Whiffs of toasted cinnamon just barely poke through deep plum jam, unlit Havana cigar (no smoke here of any kind), light vanilla brandy, teensy blackberry bramble, just a nod to portobellos…and a more than medium long finish — 3 months ago

A little tight but rounded out a little with time as it warmed — 6 days ago

Domaine de Bellene

Les Hauts Jarrons Savigny les Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2011

Heard SLB’s pair well with roast chicken….very much the inexpensive Burgh mouthfeel, bright cherry fruit and nicely restrained given the age but has that sourness on the sides and back of the palate that I don’t love…what I think of as a pleasant bistro wine by the glass. Les Hauts de Barville Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2016

9.0

Fragrant nose of red cherry, strawberry, dried herbs, light roast coffee beans, touch of violet. Vibrant palate with fresh acidity. Finely grained tannins is a bit astringent.
Quite youthful at this stage. Need another 4-5 years to show more complexity and substance.
