Absolute treat to have a 1977 next to a 2009. 77 was smooth with little fruit but paired beautifully with the filet. '09 was still fruit forward and jammed some tannins -- could sit another 5-10 years. — 8 years ago

Pop and pour. Notes from 4 hrs open. On the nose: freshly cut honeysuckle, then loads of flowers, mint, soft honey and wet stone. 昨日のお誕生日ワイン。鴨に合わせてガメイ種。ワイン見聞録福袋のひとつで市中価格は税別4900円とのこと。ほんとはもっと果実味が豊からしいのだが、夏場のヒートショックにやられたのかそれほどでもなかったのが残念。
