So smooth! A favorite for sure. — 5 years ago
*tasted with somewhat congested nose due to allergies* 45 min decant. Medium garnet color, showing more brick-red than I would expect for the age. Very meaty with slight red currant and strawberry on the nose. Palate of milk chocolate, raspberries, under-ripe strawberries, leather, and tobacco. Medium + tannins. Medium + acidity. The acidic backbone of the wine makes it good with food. — 6 years ago
My favourite Pomerol in a great year 🏆 now sells @ £250-£285 😱 On its 6th try & it’s now much better integrated & drinking lovely but will age more 😉 A New Year’s Eve delight 😍 enjoyed with Lasagne 🍝

A good brick red plenty of tannic strength holding it together — 4 years ago
Special birth year bottle for a milestone birthday this week. The cork was almost entirely intact and we double decanted to catch all the sediment. A beautiful brick color in the glass, evolving over 4 hours and drinking nicely. Plenty of fruit left and I also picked up a little salinity/olive savoriness. Glad a few friends popped by to share this with me #50inquarantine #socialdistancing 🍷😷🙌🏻 — 6 years ago
solid bottle, fun to drink. cloudy yellow and some light sediment, very much looks smells and tastes like a natural wine. — 7 years ago
I usually tend toward Pinot Noir, but when I want something just a bit bolder, Gamay hits the spot. I have really been enjoying this 2015 vintage. — 7 years ago
Birth year bottle for our first born daughter, Haley. Celebrating her graduation from Iowa State this weekend and her achieving gainful employment one week from tomorrow. The cork was stubborn but eventually cooperated, and we decanted and filtered the wine. Tart cherry the first sip, wondering if we needed a backup. Beautifully brick coloring and the sharp edges are rounding out and now we’re getting a smooth mid palate of dark berries and spice leading to a bright finish. And a bright future! 👍🏻🍷👩🎓. Cheers! — 8 years ago
Lovely Italian Red Blend (90% Negroamaro and 10% Malvasia Nera). Nice violet and bramble berry fruit aromas. Wild berry and earth flavors with hints of dried herbs and orange zest. Extremely soft tannins. Garnet color and brick rim. Not overly complex but wonderful balance and texture. Thanks Chris B. Revisited in November 2021. Holding strong. — 5 years ago
This is still my favourite Rioja & vintage at present, worth £80 😍 My 10th try & still a beauty I can’t resist 👍 I exemplifies the pure essence a high quality Rioja 👏

restaurant bottle so it was pnp unfortunately as i think this needed quite a bit of air and/or more time in the cellar. tightly wound, tart fruit, high-ish acid. i think a lot of these dry farmed bio pinots from this region just need some years to unwind and develop secondary flavors. i've got several pinots from Brick House cellaring that i'm not going sniff under 5 years. — 4 years ago
