Ten years on and this is magical with an hour in the decanter. Extremely aromatic with macerated wild raspberries and eucalyptus. Just a touch of garnet in the glass, the flavors are fresh and savory. Wild berry, faint olive tapenade, and spice. Great balance, if not a bit hot at 14.5%.
Blind tasters were in the Rhone but new world characteristics make themselves known with more time in the glass. This is delicious. Drink or hold. — 7 months ago
Wow o Wow... jammy, so stinking good — 4 years ago
Big and powerful Syrah. Make sure you decant this one. Dark blue and black brambly fruit. Black pepper and licorice. Hint of earth and chocolate. Dark purple color and very long finish. If you are a bold Syrah fan, this will satisfy you. Very pleasant! Very consistent producer. — 4 years ago
Big wine with nice grip. Thx Chuck! — 5 years ago
2002. Wow. Beautiful and elegant. Only 10% abv according to the label but I’d guess higher. Petrol, honey, Corn Pops cereal, dill, mandarin oranges, golden raisin. This is amazing. — 6 months ago
After the lees waft away (give it 10-15 minutes after corking) it smells like a steak au poivre cooked rare.
Bracing acidity and when you expect tannins to set in you get a Black pepper finish.
Does it make sense if I say that it's a gamay made in the style of a southern Rhone Grenache?
Very nuanced Beaujolais — 8 months ago
Great earthy wine. Would buy again — 2 years ago
Delicious and Creamy!!! Aromas of honey and stone fruits. The palate is teased with flavors of white peach, pear, honey. Pale yellow with nice acidity and a creamy finish. Great with cheese for lunch. — 3 years ago

Wow - power Beauj, unexpected. Dark, Somewhat austere (age) yet also fruity. Maybe that’s the old vines? Not sure what to compare it to - maybe a good CDP — 5 years ago
Sweet and licorice. — 5 years ago
Really delicious. Blackberry, currants, berry, hint of veg broth. — 7 months ago
The 2022 Viognier K Art Den Hoed is spicy in the glass, wafting up with exotic florals, lime and young peach. It’s nearly glycerol in feel, with saline minerals and zesty acidity to balance. Sour citrus offsets ripe pit fruits. This tapers off spicy with medium-length and dried apricot notes. $20.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2023) — 8 months ago
LOVE. Loire might be my favourite French region.
Some green pepper on the nose. Dangerously drinkable. Food friendly. Went well with spiced ground beef and rice, but this red would be a good companion for red or white meat, Indian dishes, or on its own. — 4 years ago
