Lumbre. Smooth and floral with a long finish — 7 years ago
Celebrating after Australia’s most famous horse 🐎 race The Melbourne Cup our horse Johannes Vermeer came 2nd by a neck in the Downs Club Calcutta. This Wine from New Zealand was a Northern Rhone style with notes of Meat Bacon Spices and Pepper. Love this medium bodied style finishing with savoury tannins. — 7 years ago
Solid red with a cool label — 8 years ago
En magnum with Johannes Leitz on a beautiful LA night. Old ass vines, soaring high alcohol at 14.5%, still massive amounts of fruit and striking acid to bring things in order. One of the most interesting Rieslings I've ever tried. Bold and radiant on the palate, ridiculously long finish. Love this! 🦄 🦄 🦄 — 8 years ago
Wonderful with ginger/fish/dill flavors, a thicker nose that isn't at all reflected on the tongue. — 5 years ago
@Delectable Wine this is the 2017 Verspieren-Haberer Grenache Rosé Rosalie.
Second wine for Christmas at my Uncles house in South Africa. Beautiful light salmon pink. Lots of layers on the nose with notes of watermelon, strawberries, and white flowers. High acidity (7/10) and light bodied. Zesty and crisp on the palate. Lovely roses, strawberries, melon and watermelon. Insanely long and lingering finish. Perfect for the hot summer day today, love what Thierry is doing in SA! Drink till 2021. (92+)

Love what Thierry is doing with this Rosé and with all the wines and barrels we tasted today at the Holden Manz Wine Estate with Wayne Buckley-Koch (Marketing Director) and Gerard Holden (Owner). This bottling is made up of 63% Grenache, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Syrah, 9% Cinsault and 7% Cabernet Franc. The fruit comes from various areas in the Coastal Region, like Wellington and Stellenbosch for the Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault as well as Franschhoek Valley for both Cabernets. Gently pressed as whole bunches before settling in the steel tanks for 12 hours and being removed from the lees. Very excited to try out the 2018 if we get a chance, it is supposed to be lighter and more elegant with less Cabernet.

High score for enjoyability not complexity. Grainy fine tannins, real verve & energy, cassis/currants. Johannes find. — 8 years ago
It is key to #DrinkLikeABillionaire, but tis dreamy to drink "from" a billionaire, here, an achingly gorgeous Faiveley L-#Chambertin 1990 acquired from the #Koch Sothebys auction - still robust, still explosively aromatic, suffused with that old autumn leaves Burgundy magic — 9 years ago
This was good, but I had heard it was VERY good, so I think I had this hyped up in my head. Or maybe just a slightly off bottle/going through a dumb phase. Nose was pretty but seemed to be lacking depth on the palate. — 5 years ago
Light & elegant - with fresh, juicy acidity and quite surprising grip (big wood). Tart raspberries and red currants, a touch of spice. Beautifully balanced. — 7 years ago
A few days later and this is singing. Rich, unctuous, and the elixir of the gods! — 7 years ago
2015. Crisp and clean, with just enough complexity to keep you paying attention and looking for more. Fruit flavors and mouth-watering acids travel together through a finish that is solid and long. Perfect match with roasted chicken, spicy green beans, and some fries. Not a pretentious sip in the entire bottle. Good stuff. 12.5% abv. Bliss Wine Imports. — 8 years ago
