L'Hermitage Blanc Marsanne Roussanne 2013

Tasted alongside the 1996 and while this was very good, it was also very primary. However, thanks to the 1996, it was very easy to tell where the 2013 is headed. If you have these, I highly recommend you hold for at least another 10 years so it can begin showing more secondary characteristics. — 18 days ago

Terres Brulées Cornas Syrah

A great bottle that shows what Cornas can do even at (relatively) moderate prices. Black fruit, licorice, dirt, balsamic notes on the nose. Full, viscous mouthfeel, long finish. Bottle #2 from Aunnie in Lyon. — 5 days ago

Côte du Py Morgon Gamay 2015

Wax seal nonsense aside….this Morgon is worth the aggravation to pull the cork. — 21 days ago

Ahah these wax seals seem to be so divisive. There are real afinicianados (I am) and fierce opponents. I enjoy the fact that I don't have to remove anything before pulling my corkscrew through. One step quicker to the wine 🍷

And of course, great pull, this is my favourite vintage of this one so far

Domaine Jean-Louis Chave

Hermitage Blanc Marsanne Roussanne 1996

Tasted alongside the 2013 and this was absolutely extraordinary. Tremendous depth. This is what I’ve always wanted out of white Rhône wines and of course, it took a well aged Chave to deliver. — 18 days ago

L'Hermitage Syrah 1999

Easily the classiest of the three late-90’s Hermitage selections in this flight and there really isn’t much more to say. The Chave just hits different. Plenty of life and enjoyment left in these. — 18 days ago
