Le Clos Duc Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Pinot Noir 2012

Oddly this tastes ripe. Different from other bottles. — 5 years ago

Domaine du Moulin (Hervé Villemade)

Rosé 2018

Really great and different from previous vintages; slightly effervescent and has some nice savory funk to compliment all the fruit. — 6 years ago

— 7 years ago

Les Bussières Vieilles Vignes Chambolle Musigny Pinot Noir

Mossy and peaty nose. Vegetables and Greene peppers. Prunes and mushrooms. Very French. Very good out of the bottle but it didn't evolve the way I wanted it to. — 9 years ago

Le Clos des Fées Grenache Blend 2013

Not seeing RP’s 95, but it’s good. Great spiced fruit nose. Ripe with a tart finish. Just a whiff of stinky. — 5 years ago

Thanks for the comment! I intend on opening the exact same one in the same vintage in a week time. Hervé Bizeul is very active on a wine forum in France called "la passion du vin" and argues that le Clos des fées should be put in a decanter for up to 24 hours before being tasted to make sure to experience it in the best possible conditions. It certainly sounds a bit exaggerated and I only meant to share his views on the topic.

I could certainly see that. This definitely gained weight the longer it was opened. The last glass was the best with 3 hrs in the bottle.

Domaine Anne et Hervé Sigaut

Les Charrières Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2005

Nose has some dirt / forest floor. Hint of mint. Complex.

Fresh. Very dense. Great structure. Some bright cherries on the edge of the palate. Dense fruit. Good structure. Great acidity. Some spice and licorice.

Long finish.

Again left my notes behind. A good wine but quite big for a Musigny and expensive. — 7 years ago

Saint Joseph Syrah 2015

Always a joy to check in with Souhaut. This Syrah is in a better early drinking place, oddly enough, than the Gamay. Very pleasurable with nice tannic presence. — 9 years ago
