Tgis wine is medium to full bodied with medium+ acidity and medium to medium+ smooth fine tannin with a nice long red fruit graphite earthy finish. Lets have a great weekend enjoy family and friends and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 5 years ago
Nose has grilled lemons, lemon buttercream, lime zest, distant brown butter, orange zest, dried apricot and (minor) struck flint.
Palate has dried lemon peel, pineapple core, buttercream, toasted walnuts, warm banana with faint sweetness on the very long finish with medium acidity. A great wine, decanted 4H and will appreciate at least another 3-4H of opening. Future bottles may be 2024-26+. Very good now, maybe one of the best FLX Chardonnay's I've experienced.
Partial Appassimento method for a portion of the grapes, really yields some extra character and depth to the wine. Only guy doing this in the FLX, Morten Hallgren, to the best of my knowledge. I'm coming to the altar here, it's the right way to handle his Chardonnay style. 👍
$24 direct from the winery cellar, to our cellar, to our glasses tonight. Being in the wine club has good benefits. 👌 — 6 years ago

Excellent smooth Finger Lake wine. Smooth aftertaste. Will drink this again. Great by itself — 8 years ago
I feel that this is probably the best Pinot Noir producer out of the finger lakes although the competition is finally a good one. The nose has a wonderful aroma of currant a plum with undertones of spice including nutmeg and mulling spices. The palate is gorgeously light and elegant but still somewhat juicy at the same time. Flavors of plum, sour cherry and baking spice along with wonderfully balance acidity. The finish is soft and elegant with juicy fruit notes of lingering acidity. Wow... a great pairing for roasted pork. — 8 years ago
Straw and green apples and the nose and palate. Finishes like a Granny Smith. Good acidity with some sugar but not too much sweetness. Reserve is a step up but this is a great value. — 3 months ago
What a great winery. Pale straw color. Aroma of pears! ( and green apples and minerals) initial taste of crisp pears , green apples and citrus. A DRY Riesling that is not at all sweet but not dry. A creaminess one is he back. Flavors intensify as it warms. Fantastic on a hot day. — 5 years ago
A pre-dinner bottle while we do meal prep tonight.
Prior notes still apply:
Nose has lime zest, lime juice, green hay, wet granite/limestone pebbles, oxidized green apple peel, polyethylene tubing and tangerine peel.
Palate has Key lime flesh, cold tangerine slice, apricot skin, wet-pulverized limestone, lemongrass, tangerine zest, (minor) dried apricot and light honey on the medium finish, medium acid, great balance. — 5 years ago
Finger lakes cab franc is so great. Some dark fruits, herbs, underbrush and spice on the nose; medium bodied with a lot of expressive mid palate flavor with decent acidity. — 6 years ago

12 October 2018; Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyards tasting.
Nose of incredible Gardenia flowers, light spices.
Palate has spicy white pepper, dilute honey, long finish.
A great bottle, this varietal thrives in the FLX region, most notably in the HJW vineyards! — 8 years ago
2013 vintage. Petrol notes. Waxy. Lanolin. Drinking great. — 2 years ago
This is fabulous great wine!! — 5 years ago
Smooth great tasting bourbon at a reasonable price! — 6 years ago
Nose has honey drizzled on citrus peel, (light) candle wax and white flowers.
Palate has sweet citrus, pineapple and under-ripe white peach.
I'm quite satisfied with the development of this bottle, likely can hold until 2021-22, but in a great spot tonight at four years past vintage. — 7 years ago

2017 Ravine White Springs Vineyard Dry Riesling (Finger Lakes). Nine years old and still seems youthful. Great nose of zesty Granny Smith and slightly unripe Cortland apples and lots of high-toned stony minerality. Palate is concentrated and intense, lots of crisp acid to balance the deep fruit and intense stones. Lipsmackingly delicious. 9.3 (This is a re-post because @Delectable Wine deep-sixed the original) — 17 days ago
