A lot of body and texture, with smooth tannin and not too dry — 3 months ago
Brief notes at a good Italian restaurant in Sanctuary Cove. We don’t often drink Amarone but we love it when we do. Rich and supple, blackberry like liquid Fruit and Nut milk chocolate. Touch of liquorice. An excellent match with Beef Ragu with Pappardelle pasta. — 3 months ago
Very dry but awesome with the right pairing. Wouldn’t drink it alone without dinner. — 4 months ago
Better then the regular Ruffino — 5 months ago

18-. Very sophisticated wine. Smooth, deep, long. The epitome of serious Rioja. Not spectacular, but give me more. — 2 months ago
Wow, lovely and so drinkable. (Florence) — 2 months ago
Amarone is great! This was was pretty good although haven’t had a lot of bad Amarone — 3 months ago
The 2019 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is youthfully understated, requiring coaxing to reveal its depths of dried black cherries, mocha and cloves, all lifted by a hint of fresh mint. This impresses with its blend of sweet spices, opulent ripe wild berry fruits and silken textures, all balanced by brisk acidity and a pleasantly bitter tinge of dark chocolate toward the close. This finishes classically dry with dramatic length and potency, leaving a coating of fine-grained tannins that saturates, promising many years of positive evolution. Allegrini knocked this one out of the park. Wow. (Eric Guido, Vinous, February 2024)

Rich yet savoury, with great depth & purity. Freshness. Precision. Spicy fullness with amazing drinkability.
Pure cherry, kirsch & amaretto, some leather, a bit of undergrowth & mushroom,
Surprisingly tannic on the palate - grupy, juicy fresh. Zippy acidity, cherry freshness, savoury purity. Delicious, complex, quite profound. Amazing wine. — 3 months ago
Nice Chianti Classico. Perfect with Italian food, as expected. — 4 months ago
Really enjoyed this. Smooth with balanced flavor and mouthfeel. — 5 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over several hours. Clearly showing the solar nature of the vintage, the 2015 Fèlsina CCR pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core. Medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of stewed cherries and strawberries, well-oiled leather ball glove, red flowers, curaçao, dried green herbs, and sandalwood. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes of the nose. The finish is long, tart and satisfying with ferrous minerals. A lovely pairing with Conchiglie Ripiene. While this is fully mature, it still has a healthy life ahead. Drinking very well now and should through 2030 with ease. — 6 months ago
Oily, cherry, herby. Beautifull!!!! — 5 years ago
For those who love Riojas, this is excellent. Tobacco, vanilla, and cherry are my favorites. — 2 months ago
Presented to me double-blind at Tasting Group. The wine is a deep ruby color with a slightly purple hue; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. No signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of black and red fruit: Ranier cherries and blackberries along with some dried earth, soft wood notes, some faint baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins (that seem to build) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and comes off a touch reserved in the end. Initial conclusions: this could be a Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Grenache-based blend or Bordeaux-blend from either Spain, Italy, France, the United States or Australia but the fruit doesn’t impress so I’m leaning away from the New World. I don’t get enough candied fruit to put me in the Southern Rhone and I think the oak treatment seems a bit liberal for that. And if this Sangiovese, I would be pissed. So I’m calling Tempranillo, from Spain, Rioja, Reserva, 2018. Daaaaang. I was close. Drink now with patience and enjoy through 2036.

This wine is colored dark purple, almost inky. The nose is wonderful, with an earthiness leading the way for plum, cherry and tar. The palate is loaded with dark fruit, earth and black pepper. The tannins are fairly smooth, but they work well against a Bolognese sauce. There is a nice acidity and a wonderful herbal finish. — 3 months ago
This wine has a dark purple color and a complex nose. Aromas of black cherry, violets, anise, clove, leather and earth are plentiful in the bouquet. The palate offers a medium mouthfeel with great acidity and firm tannins. The fruit flavors are carried along by the more savory aspects of the profile. It is a wine which would love a pairing with a steak or a pork chop, or with a meaty stew. — 5 months ago
