Lived up to all expectations. Decanted. Enjoyed over 5.5 hours. Other than a quick opening taste we sat in this for more than an hour before getting into it. Mature and complex. Lots of layers. Strong powerful aged fruit but still had plenty of elements of pop. Loved this! — 2 months ago

Delectable - this is the Riserva. Dining at Do Forni in Venice which won a Grand Award for its Wine List from Wine Spectator. They have amazing verticals of Cuvées like Sassicaia, Solaia, Gaja, Tignanello etc…and, of course, Biondi Santi. I was hoping to pick a Soldera but only a magnum left at a hideous price. An aged tawny rim, tinge of orange. Burnt orange peel and Georgie thought a note of rubber. An Animale/Gamey note which didn’t detract. Dried cherry, loamy notes like the previous night’s Salvioni. This is Brunello royalty which is ridiculously long lived. At 19 years of age this is infanticide for Biondi Santi. We visited the winery about 6 years ago where I bought a 2001 which hasn’t even entered its drinking window yet. Medium plus tannins. This was a special treat. — 2 years ago

This 2018 Rossj-Bass continues to impress with its vibrant and layered expression. On the nose, the Sauvignon Blanc influence lends bright aromatic lift, offering ripe peach, zesty lemon peel, and a delicate touch of passionfruit, all woven together with nuances of almond and a whisper of jasmine. The palate is beautifully balanced, round and texture with a medium-full body, yet lifted by a lively, refreshing acidity. The finish is polished and harmonious. Tasted blind . Medium garnet , more terracotta rim . More closed on the nose , some sweet cherry and cedar , orange rind and touch of anise . This is again quite fresh on the palate , some cherry and cedar , cut herbs , anise . Pretty grippy tannins . Reasonable length with good strawberry , raspberry , liquorice tinged finish . Needs a little more time , better in a couple of years and will last well a further 5-10. — 8 months ago

So good. Definitely has relaxed a bit - the tannins are pretty smooth, but the quality and depth of the fruit both on the nose and palate remains. Excellent with steaks off the grill. I think our last bottle. Opened for 3 hours and decanted for 30 mins. Very nice. — 3 months ago
