Another great fondue wine — 5 years ago
Dark Ruby with a tawny rim. Savoury plum with earthy dusty notes on the nose. Trademark H of G silky palate with sweetness and a little barnyard - medium weight but with M plus intensity. Still on the plateau in its 27th year verging on its 28th. Easily Australia’s best single vineyard Shiraz bearing in mind that Penfolds Grange is multi regional. A lovely old Australian Shiraz with its ancient old vines - always delivers. I will drink my last one in the next 6 to 12 months. — 6 years ago
4th Friday of the month means another monthly Classic happy hour! Great wines, great people.
This was my contribution last night. One of the more profound Cali chards I’ve come across. Powerhouse! The richness and front palate power is very similar to Kongsgaard. Viscous. The notes are honeyed, but not lean...not even compared to the Aubert that was on the table with it. Not overly buttery, more just high quality chard that commands your attention. Mexican vanilla, toasted almonds, and honeyed brioche. The finish goes on forever...lots of cashew, melon, and coconut shell. No stone/tropical fruits here. An absolutely KILLER bottle, @Martin G Rivard , thank you for the intro here! — 8 years ago
Smooth as silk; yet, great structure & elegant finish paired with spinach, shrimp & scallop lasagna in Delta One on way to Amsterdam — 9 years ago
Same maker as prisoner. Dark fruit. Delicious. So good — 5 years ago
Sourced from the Walla Walla Rocks District, this opens with Umami and nori tones that mingle with Mandarin orange rind, and guava puree tones that all dance in the glass. The palate is plush, showing off its silky texture. Layers of bright red fruits collide with minerals, charcuterie, citrus rind accents and stony undertones on the palate. Sinfully good in its youth, this beautiful wine will cellar well over the next decade. Drink 2020-2030- 94 — 6 years ago
14’ vintage — 7 years ago
Floral, mineral nose yet quite a bit of tannins. Almost feels chewy. This is one of the most interesting wines I’ve had in a while — 7 years ago
Wonderfully refreshing on a hot summer afternoon. — 8 years ago
My buddy Luke is moving to New York next week and knowing he enjoys young Napa cabs, I thought this would be a good bottle to open as a send off! This was my first Cult that I was able to purchase when visiting last year (though I’m well aware of its fanfare on here, especially from Martin “Beau Rivard” @Martin G Rivard)
Not quite pop and pour, but close. Another one of those ‘14s that epitomes the words “plush”. The fruits are so soft and pronounced...black and blue fruit, decadent milk chocolate, licorice and sweet oak. Obviously young on the palate but drinking quite well after an hour or so of being open. Lovely texture. Blueberry compote & plum on the finish. This is one of those wines that obviously benefits from time, but probably drinks better young than with substantial age. 👌 — 8 years ago

First time trying this producer. Wonderful food wine! The hype is real for Comando G. — 5 years ago
Great complex flavor — 6 years ago
One of the best pet nats I’ve ever tasted. This is on another level. The cab franc gives way to lots of crunchy red fruits on that palate, supported by high acidity and lots of minerality. While a lot of pet nats can be much more rough around the edges, this is all about finesse. — 7 years ago
Best bottle I’ve had of this wine yet. Really fresh and juicy. — 7 years ago
